Apart from the injury to Stanton, this game was a pleasant surprise. Warren limited damage. He seems like even against a decent offense, he could be counted on to at least keep the team in the game in a long-relief playoff appearance. And thankfully, the bottom of the order didn’t entirely collapse against the mediocre pitching. Jazz even had a good day, except maybe that last challenge – though as poorly as it might reflect on his eye, it was still sort of defensible given the full count and two challenges left in the 9th inning.
Warren had a chance to self destruct but didn’t.

Katie S Following his 7th inning HR, Ben Rice is now slugging .833 in 28 PA vs LHP this season. I think Rice kind of fixed himself from 2023 and has been getting better rapidly since.
It really is amazing how bad he looked after his first hot stint in 2024. He’s really remade himself in a big way.
