  1. Speaking of dumb, if this is who Wells is, they have to just stop giving him at bats. Not platoon him, but stop giving him ANY at bats. He simply sucks.
No idea what happened to him (unless you count Rowson et al as “happened”), but it doesn’t look to be a phase.
Either find a way to fix him (out of the ML team) or get what you can for him.
Actually playing this level of performance is ridiculous.
Rice may be the only guy on the team worth putting behind the plate.

  2. We might actually have an impressive fight between Warren and Weathers for that #5 spot in the rotation.

If Warren can pitch like this, you’d probably prefer Weathers’ electric fastball in the pen.

    1. Maybe.
He wasn’t tested in what beat him last start, there was no moment of adversity for him to buckle under the weight of it (or not).

    2. Or between Warren, Weathers, and Gil for the #4 and #5.

If there were a competent bullpen, a 6 man rotation might be reasonable, particularly given how many of these starters are recovering from injury…

    3. “Or between Warren, Weathers, and Gil for the #4 and #5.”

I think Gil is pretty clearly going to be sent to the minors when Rodon returns.

  3. Fucking lucky ass Rays, Skenes only pitched four innings because of rain delays, and now they’re finally breaking through against the stupid Pirates in the THIRTEENTH INNING in Pittsburgh!

    Oh well.

  4. Reagans autocorrect career reverse split, no split 2025. Cold guys sit.
    Creative lineup.

    B Rice (L) DH
    A Judge (R) RF
    C Bellinger (L) LF
    P Goldschmidt (R) 1B
    T Grisham (L) CF
    A Rosario (R) 2B
    A Wells (L) C
    J Caballero (R) SS
    R McMahon (L) 3B

    1. Not sure 1HR takes McMahon out of the “cold guys” category, but maybe you see something!

  5. The New York Yankees today announced that they have acquired minor league right-handed pitcher Wilmy Sanchez from the Houston Astros in exchange for INF Braden Shewmake.

  6. Hoch
Ryan Weathers has not allowed a hit on a breaking ball all season (95 pitches).
