    1. So cool. Welcome back, SG! It would be good to see you around with some frequency.

  1. Great win against the Yankee’s nemesis! Heck of a throw by Soto.

Glad Cortes didn’t give up 8 runs. Maybe he won’t suck to bad this season.

    1. Volpe looked great (although he also looked good to begin last year).

I didn’t notice much about Stanton, he still hasn’t met a low/outside slider he won’t wave at though.

  2. Man, watching the replays – I really don’t think that tag was made. Ball hits glove hits dirt – and never gets the runner.

    Definitely not enough to overturn.
But in terms of reality, and not the letter of the law – they stole that game.

(Of course, any normal team with that offensive output would have scored twice as many runs.)

    1. Agree, I would like to see comment threads go deeper, but it sounds like there might be some technical limitations there?

    1. Major League Baseball.
“Because money now trumps having an actual fan base.”

  3. Yankee PR The New York Yankees today announced that they have acquired right-handed pitcher JT Brubaker and international signing bonus money from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for a player to be named later.

RAB Interesting! Brubaker started Opening Day for the Pirates in 2022. Power sinker guy, which the Yankees love and have had success coaching up. The Pitt > NY pipeline continues.

    1. Brubaker is also recovering from TJ, and is unlikely to be available until the summer.

    2. At least they’ll have maneuvering room the next time they don’t sign the big intl free agent. (Yes, I know he wanted to go to CA, but then they should have overcome that with a significantly higher bid. Or they could not do anything unreasonable – and sign no major players. Okay, except for a one-year contract.)

I guess it really turns on who the player to be named later is, right?
