From Bryan Hoch:
Over the past several days, one Yankees voice after another has offered versions of this thought: No one can replace Aaron Judge.
That may be true, but it could be fun to watch Spencer Jones try.
The Yankees once again stocked their lineup with a 6-foot-7 right fielder on Friday, and Jones made an immediate impact in his return, going 3-for-3 with his first Major League extra-base hit in a 5-3 loss to the Red Sox at Yankee Stadium.
What a bizarre headline for a game in which the Yankees starter gave up five runs for the third time in his last four starts.
THAT’S the story of this game, not Spencer Jones having a good game.
That said, sure, it was nice to see Spencer Jones have a good game.
The key was Ryan Weathers sucking, though, just like how Gerrit Cole and Cam Schlittler sucked this week. It’s a very bad time for their starters to all start sucking.
Featured image is the home run that ultimately proved to be the game-winner.
The Yankees are changing bands on the Titanic by bringing up the shitty-hitting Ali Sanchez, who can at least shittily hit from the right side of the plate (amusingly, 6 of his 7 home runs have come against righthanded pitchers).
Yankee reclamation project former high prospect, current #14, Henry Lalane last 3 games 15.2ip, 1r, 6h, 21 Ks. He had 14 swings and misses last night.

Rob Deer would have struck out swinging.
Can we talk about New York’s only team, the Knicks
Doyle was a highly regarded college player until he blew out his knee and turned to the felt. Guess his talent must’ve skipped a generation.

I don’t get the idea behind trying to hide Jones against the first lefty he faces. Let’s see what he can do. If he sucks, then fine, you can sit him against the NEXT lefty.
For his career Suarez has a 125 point OPS Split, but for the season he has a reverse split 170 points.
So agree with Brian.
I for one am excited about the debut of Ali Sanchez who at Scranton crushed LHPs
176/282/294. In his MLB career 167/211/222 while Escarra in a computational anomaly 33PAs is
333/364/433.
So excited.
Elias Diaz had a nice dead duck bounce with the Royals. I wouldn’t mind them picking him up. He likely sucks, but he’s a righty at least.
