I must say, I DO appreciate Boone treating this series like a playoff series, and not resting Wells for the sake of resting him. Or getting Grisham a game for the sake of getting Grisham a game. Just stick with the main lineup as long as you can.
Come on, Cole, don’t be a dick.
That was some Yankee-esque baserunning by Happ. We’ll take it, Happ!
When Cole buckles down, he’s unhittable. Why doesn’t he just, like, you know, always buckle down?
Gleyber wanted to remind us that he is still Gleyber.
Hasn’t it felt like Gleyber seems to fuck over Cole in particular?
OU Yankee runs 2.5. OU both combined 7.5.
Tauchman is fouling off some really nice pitches. It sucks.
Cole must be fuming at having to throw all these extra pitches because of Gleyber’s error extending the inning.
Obviously, Cole can’t walk Tauchman there, so that’s on Cole, but the Paredes two-ribbie single was a bloop that a good center fielder catches easily, and, well, yeah, fucking Gleyber.
We don’t need no stinkin’ defense.
RAB Gleyber makes an error, Cole can’t put Mike Tauchman away with two strikes, and the right fielder playing center field lets a catchable ball drop in. Bad.
Da Yankees
Judge is a fantastic RF. Sit shithead, move Soto to Left, let Trent or The Martian play center.
Oh my god, Jazz, LOOK AT THE FUCKING PLAY AS IT IS HAPPENING!
Need a hit or a sac fly here, since we know Verdugo is grounding out.
Wow, what a catch by Happ! Paired with Judge’s awful defensive play and it really irks you.
O’s lose. The Yankees really need this one.
In the alternative, you can argue that BECAUSE the Orioles lost, the Yankees DON’T “really” need this one.
That was an amazing pitch by Taillon to strike Soto out.
His sweeper has AMAZING movement today.
The clutch Yankee popup with RISP.
Stanton followed suit with a popup of his own. What the FUCK, dudes?
Stanton has been awful, something like 0-19 now.
Two weeks ago today, Aaron Judge hit his last HR. In memoriam.
Dick Fitts and Greg Weissert pitching a zero earned run game together is very annoying (to be fair, Fitts wasn’t actually all that good. Six hits in five innings against the White Sox). It’s even more annoying when the Yankees just keep on sending Verdugo out there.
They need to at least make the bullpen lose this one. Cole doesn’t deserve a loss in this game.
Oofff! Soto and Judge need some B-12 or something. Judge was on the verge to set a record wRC+ for RH hitters and has fallen into a Soto slump.
Runner on second with one out for Soto and Judge and nada. Nooooooooooot good.
If judge hits like this the rest of the month does he lose the mvp to Witt?
the ump has sucked today but Taillon was very good.
Three Friday, all in one inning. Two yesterday, both gifts. One today. All their pitchers are pretty good. None that good. They shouldn’t all be dominating.
This team can’t hit.
if Soto and Judge get shut down at the same time, it sure seems like that.
LOL. More RISP FAIL.
They tried to gift us a run. We refused.
The Cubs pitchers are handling us easier than they do a typical NL Central team.
I mean, at least Cole has been excellent.
Cole looked incredibly unathletic post-strikeout right there. impressively so
Cole’s EIGHTH start of 2 runs or fewer of run support. Madness.
That was an impressive inning against a pitcher with a 4.6 ERA. phenom is such a disappointment. Verdugo sucks. Yankees once had the M&M boys, now it’s V&V.
Just so, so dreadful.
I am sure the Yankees hitters will be thrilled to get out of Chicago. That wind has been killing them all series.
The Yankees have not hit for quite a while against a lot of bad pitchers. Six runs in 3 games.
Oh sure, but this specific series, they’ve been killed by the wind a LOT.
rizzo looked incredibly unathletic on that catching a ball post-inning-and-entering-dugout
2-0 groundout. SERIOUSLY, Stanton?!
Ian Happ has been so good today in the field.
All of Rizzo’s power is gone. It’s so sad.
Will Volpe be smart enough to let Ellis try to steal?
Waldo had been really hot before getting shelved. Shame he probably is cold for the ph.
Volpe fails.
Boy, Volpe swings at some ugly pitches. What a pathetic loss. And really unfair for Cole to be fucked by the error and the TERRIBLE defense by Judge in center.
I will not miss Gleyber. I have wanted him gone for years.
Judge should not be playing regular CF. Just more Yankees foolishness.
Judge is tired. Playing too many games in CF. And now the Yankees will pay the price. And so will judge if he loses his mvp over the next three weeks.
If they had the Martian he could give everybody a rest. Boone used to give too many days off, now he doesn’t give any.
tough loss paired with my aforementioned concerns about the top-heavy high skill, low athleticism on the present Yankee 28-man
Did they DFA Waldo? He’s a better hitter against RHPs than Volpe, Verdugo or Rizzo.
This is a very poorly run operation. Hal doesn’t care, so long as he can dive into a pool of gold coins, emulating his childhood hero, Scrooge McDuck. Winning a WS? Who needs it.
One hit the last 4 innings and it was a misplayed fly ball. This team never gives up.
lotta bitching about the wrong things might I add
Pavin Smith for the Diamondbacks has 3 HR’s, 8 RBI’s in one game. Yankees had 0 HRs, 6 runs in 3 games.

Dominguez has a locker
Doesn’t mean anything. I have a locker at Grand Central.
HOW TO SERVE FANS
DJLM to the IL with hip inflammation. I assume that this is a semi-phantom injury and the release will come in the offseason. Along with Rizzo retiring.
Of course Verdugo will still play every day. They’ll just rest Stanton Judge or Soto
lol, he’s getting his first start in CF as a Yankee tonight over Grisham. Judge DHing.
Jasson starting in LF and hitting 6th.
chris, if true, insane.
Not true, my apologies. NY just corrected the lineup. Jasson in CF, Verdugo in LF.
I legit don’t get it. Who gets DFAed to make room for Berti on the 40-man? Ellis was sent down last night. Why would they option him to the minors if they were just going to cut him? So it’s PROBABLY not him, right? So…uhm…who is it?
Designated LHP Anthony Misiewicz for assignment
I just counted, and I still get 40 guys on the 40 man, so I guess it’s all right, but who the fuck am I missing?!
Ah, thanks, Chris!
Boone he’ll play a lot.
Gotta rest Soto, Judge and Stanton.
Ha!
RAB I like that Verdugo gave them the best chance to win three days ago and now he’s batting ninth while the guy who wasn’t good enough to replace him bats sixth.
phenom gets a day off. Judge DH. Basically The Martian is replacing Grisham today.

I suggested that they find an excuse to put DJLM on the IL and they did! I also suggest they bring him back for spring training and if he shows nothing release him then. Maybe he was playing hurt all year. He’d be a decent bench player if he’s not hurt. But they still need to find starters at 1b, 2b or 3b (jazz only plays one) plus an OF if Soto leaves and at least two relief pitchers. That’s a lot of work for a GM who is past his prime.
The season has landed! phone home!!

Rodon struggling. with the aid of 2 Yankees errors.
The error was on Jazz but Rizzo needs to make the play.
Escape with just 1 run scoring, 27 pitches.
