We all know that records don’t matter when the Yankees head into Fenway. They typically find a way to lose here. And with Luis Gil starting, it shouldn’t be hard to do that tonight, as well.
But it would be nice if they didn’t!
Gil 94/95 won’t cut it.
Da Due Ron Ron
Stanton off the schneid.
non si pou stoparlo!
Dramatic call Kay. It wasn’t close to being fair.
Stanton 3, Bosox 0.
1/21 da DUE ron ron
Kind of strange that he let Grichuk hit.
Judge ran all out there.
That bunt was kind of strange also
That was a strike. Just swing the Folken bat.
That was a face saving challenge.
Wow Judge is hitting 235
Against all odds Gil is pitching well. Not that surprising we’re not hitting.
“They’d probably like to stay away from Chivilli.” Yeah.
Can Gil possibly be any good if he’s not striking anyone out like Chen-Ming?
Tim Mountain? Oy
Rays having a rough go of it tonight. The three dozen fans who showed up cannot be pleased.
phenom 2-4 with a home run, Martian 3-4 with a home run and a double, Beck 6i 1r 3h 7k
Lombard, single, HR.
Relatively stress free 9th for Bednar.
Even then he threw too many pitches. But yeah, I think he gets up for the Red Sox, so he stays focused, which he normally doesn’t do in non-save situations.
Yeah, 19 pitches are too many.
The swinging bunt didn’t help.
I often note that sometimes, certain teams just have the Yankees’ number in a season. Well, I think that’s Gil with the Red Sox. He sucks against everyone else, but he deals against the BoSox.
Katie S Yankees to allow 5 or fewer Baserunners in 1st 10 Games Pitched of a Season (min. 10 IP):
Tim Hill (2026)
Aroldis Chapman (2021)
Andrew Miller (2016)
Mariano Rivera (2008)
Which name does not belong in this list.
While I agree, the idea that it took Boone THIS long to just fucking let Hill be the 8th inning guy until he sucks is beyond me.
Mets lose 12th straight after Williams’ ninth-inning collapse.
“It’s tough, man,” Williams said. “I’ve never been a part of something like this,
“I felt a little out of sync mechanically,” Williams said. “I couldn’t really land my changeup for a strike. So it was tough to try and just beat guys with just a fastball.”
The Yankees bullpen isn’t getting it done for the Mets? Oh No!
He’s never been like this? Does he not remember 2025 when his ERA was over 10 into May?
Or August 2025 when he gave up runs in 3 straight games; 1 run for a blown save followed by multiple runs picking up back to back losses?
The Mets deserve this for signing a guy who stunk to a big fat contract hoping to rub it into the Yankees face and instead …ha.
PA “The Yankees made a quick shuffle today, placing starter Ryan Weathers on the paternity list and recalling Jake Bird from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Bird had been sent down to the minors after allowing three runs in an outing against the Angels, replaced first by Yerry De Lo Santos and then by Angel Chivilli.”
“Jake Bird 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K — begins the long road back to Aaron Boone’s Circle of Trust”

I would hope bird is just here for a game we’re getting blown out to save the bullpen. Only an idiot would use him
In any kind of close game. Uhhh.,,,Boone is still the manager.
They had Bird fly up because with oil prices where they’re at, Hal/Cash didn’t want to pay for gas from Scranton to Boston, let alone jet fuel.
NY Post reporting the players are pining for some shitty alternate jerseys. I say until these guys win something they should have zero say in altering the hallowed traditions of a storied franchise.
And get off my lawn.
Agree with everything you said, except I’m inclined to let the players do it because they’re not the main reason the team isn’t winning. Judge could have two or three rings by now if Cashman could build a roster, Boone could manage a ballgame, and the coaches could teach fundamental baseball.
But then again, as Steve Jobs said, A players hire A players; B players hire C players.
The Angels now up 3-0 over the Blue Jays as Trout hits his first HR (a solo shot) in six games.
The Blue Jays tie it at 3 each.
The Angels came right back, score 4 in the seventh, lead 7-3 in the bottom of the eighth.
The Angels win.
Rice on the bench tonight.
They need to let him catch.
