I’m legit not worried about this team long term, but short term, I was dreading this weekend coming IN, and I’m obviously pissed about it now, as well, especially now that the Rays have completed their three-game sweep of the Diamondbacks, and are so poised to take back first place from the Yankees when they choke against Sonny Gray tonight.
I didn’t even feel like these losers deserved game threads, I am so disgusted with them in this series, but eh, whatever, that’s probably not fair.
Oh.
NBC doing a bang up job. Will Scotty Scheffler hold on? Roger Clemens as the Yankee expert?
Great round for Morikawa, 9 under, but he falls one short of a tie.
The Blue Jays made it to .500, now they’re 6-under.
Well, 3.2 innings and 83 pitches and counting. Great job!
I shouldn’t have even bothered to give these losers their own game thread.
That’s hilarious that that was an actual strike. I totally would have challenged, too.
Okay, good, just a normal loss now.
I’m so glad I went to the movies. This broadcast and this suckitude would be too much.
Does Blackburn pitch every day?
The needle isn’t helping Wells
why didn’t jones get a chance against a righty?
He started, 0-3, 3Ks.
oh ok, just getting it on now. thx
why is volpe hitting
good slide by him, i thought i was looking at a game 7 ikf situation
They’re obviously still going to lose, but come on, this was legit hilarious.
Wells best contact of the year.
lol
They’re obviously STILL going to lose, but come on, that was ALSO legit hilarious.
Cruz wants to lose.
Cruz really wants to lose.
Cruz picked a great time to pitch the worst he has all season. They’re just crushing everything.
Well done, Cruz. 👏🏻👏🏻 🤮
What a bizarrely bad outing by Cruz. They destroyed every pitch. Was he tipping?
Well that sucked
I know you HAD to use Cruz there, and he just sucked, which, hey, shit happens, but in situations like this, I legit prefer Hill. He’ll give up the Manfred man, but he won’t give up loud outs.
i thought a real 1b could have gotten that first ground ball. rice is nice but they don’t look pro anywhere lately.
I don’t think even Doval has looked as bad as Cruz did that inning. Hmmm…okay, maybe Doval has looked that bad.
Cruz should be put on the wrong plane.
Cruz was due. Just came at a bad time. He’s not as good as his record has been. I didn’t even consider watching the bottom of the 10th.
Yeah, that’s the big problem with relievers. They’re all bound to have bad games, but whenever they do, they’re inherently going to be in bad spots.
But shouldn’t be that bad.
Yeah, that was REALLY bad by a guy who hadn’t had an outing that bad all season.
Meanwhile the Yankee hitters stunk up the joint again. The best hitters on the team now are utility pieces on good teams. Nine hits in 3 games.
Yeah, the offense is by FAR the biggest problem with this team right now. They’re all hitting like shit at the same time.
Except for Rice and Cody there really are no good hitters on this 8. And Rice and Cody are in a funk.
Rice and Belli shouldn’t continue to suck this much, though. As soon as they stop sucking, the team will be fine. Which is why I’m not too worried long term.
don’t worry, mcmahon is back
Which means we’ll see less of Rosario whose been the best hitter on the team.
Cruz is especially vulnerable because he relies so much on one pitch.
Yankees 1-4 in xtras, 9-13 in one run games, plying five games under their Pythag.
Katie S Yankees now have 3 losses when leading in extra innings this season.
That’s tied with the Rays for the most in MLB.

The needle is moving. Kirschner:
By the way, Austin Wells officially has double-digit RBIs on the season after his check-swing fielder’s choice.
Victor Scott II is now the lone remaining player with at least 180 PA not to have double-digit RBIs
PA Carlos Lagrange 0.2 IP, 4 H, 5 R, 2 BB, 1 K (loss, blown save) – obviously an ugly outing, but the data paints a tough-luck picture: Lagrange gave up three seeing-eye singles that helped blow things up
If I was Boone I would stand up on the team plane and say “I’m not angry, but I am disappointed. I want you all to think about what you did, and how that hurt me.”
Or I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to take it any more.
more in sorrow than in anger, bop
imagine if they sent volpe and wells down so cabrera and jones could stay
plenty of backup if with cabrera and rosario
escarra can bang (boone told me)
why not?
volpe doesn’t seem to have a future at short, at least on this team.
Oh this is good. Have the Yankees not heard of PLANNED parenthood?
Prior to tonight’s game, the Yankees made the following roster moves:
•Recalled RHP Jake Bird (#59) from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
•Placed RHP David Bednar on the paternity list.
Tonight’s lineup. Lipstick on a pig?

Relying on Stanton was a bad idea.
Yankees 7-72 RISP. That’s not such a tiny sample.
Or does not look good in the field. Weathers gives up 3 hits but only 1 run.
Rice and Cody 1-18 in Boston.
