  1. Jeeez, man.
How can both Warren AND Weathers have been so good and then both start sucking in COMPLETE UNISON? It’s so, so, so not the first time this kind of thing has happened to the Yankees. There has to be an explanation.

  2. I’ll say this much. The two teams he struggled with, Cleveland and Toronto, are both notably teams that make a lot of contact and try to spoil as many pitches as possible. So it makes sense that he would have problems with them.

It was still an AWFUL performance.

    1. I don’t get pinch-hitting for Sanchez here. He was 2-3, and it’s not like Jones is some pinch-hitting stud.

Plus, most guys are clueless about pinch hitting.

    1. it used to be an error if you got a piece of it. lucky for volpe they have changed the way they evaluate these things.

  3. Lombard 1-3. Elmer 5ip 3r 3h 2k 3bb. Meh. Lagrange 3ip 2r 2h 5k 0bb! What happened to the plan to convert him to a reliever who pitches every day or 2? They’ve been using him every 5 days.

  4. Volpe had a pretty good game other than that horrible at bat against Hoffman. Two nice plays in the field, 2 different RBI singles. Sadly it’s mostly a one time thing that keeps him on the team forever.
