It sure would be nice to not get swept.
Is Todd worse than Flash? Seriously how many announcers/color guys do they need? Cone, Paul, Flash, Nelson and Girardi aren’t enough?
Yes. The other day I caught myself thinking Flash is getting better. Frazier is classic meathead former player turned announcer – regardless of any stance on advanced analytics.
Is it good when you need to throw 7-9 pitches each at-bat to get the hitters on the other team to swing and miss?
Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner warns of lower payrolls after 2024: ‘Simply not sustainable for us financially’
Had they had a better season last year, they totally would have lowered the payroll this season.
If the Braves can do it the Hal’s can do it, only more so.
NO infield singles for Judge
How May The Yankees Fail You Today?
Didn’t Monte Python write a song about Dylan Moore?
Michael Milliken trying to hurt hot dog sales.
Good grief, Nestor at 47 pitches through 2-innings.
That was the best Rizzo could do with that meatball pitch? Yikes.
Soto!
Hal ‘s small payroll better include about 600 mil for Soto.
Sho him the money.
Soto is going to be extremely wealthy in NYC next year.
If/when Soto’s in Queens next year will Judge be in SF the following year?
Looks like another busy night for the bullpen.
Helluva play Volp.
That’s not a home run at Citi Filed Juan.
Acceptable first inning back for Kahnle.
Soto and Judge and a pile of sludge. The new Spahn and Sain and pray for rain.
I hope Hal is gettin’ his check writing arm warmed up.
Savant has Gil at these percentiles:
Pitching run value: 97th
Fastball run value: 91
Breaking run value: 65
Offspeed run Value: 97
xERA: 81
xBA: 93
Whiff%: 83
K%: 89
Barrel%: 74
Hard Hit%: 89
When Cole comes back, they can’t get rid of him. Which means the only option is going to be to … trade Stroman to the Padres for Higgy and Wandy.
When Gil was a prospect, his change-up was a very very distant 3rd pitch.
Soto and Judge really DO have an OPS competition going, huh
As someone who paid $21 for a Goose Island IPA on Sunday afternoon (yes, I tipped $2), I find it hard to believe that Hal “can’t” “sustain” payroll. Ludicrous. The team is minting money (though maybe they’ll be selling the autographed game-used Jalen Brunson jerseys for less than they’d hoped 2 weeks ago….)
Weirdly I love Michael Tonkin, who is not very good. And I loathe Austin Wells, who is better (but not that good).
If he can stick behind the plate, Agustin Ramirez is going to make Wells superfluous pretty darn soon.
I’m turning against Cabrera, who is also probably bad anyway
What do they say about Ramirez’ defense lately? FG didn’t like it
Also FG is almost unusable unless you’re a subscriber and even if I were the navigation is horrible, unless paying customers get access to a secret, well-designed site
Can confirm: They do not.
Though I appreciate any site that finished its buildout in 1999 and decided that was good enough to stand the test of time.
It worked for us!
What is it with team and bases loaded?
Tonkin looks like he’s doing Jeff Nelson cosplay.
Don’t worry Holmes will lock it down in the ninth
Weaver was just being a good teammate, getting Holmes back on the horse right away.
I still can’t believe Tonkin walked that second dude up five in the eighth.
Cal Raleigh DID hit 30 homers last year, and leads all catchers in homers this year. He at least isn’t some bum.
Murderers row. Verdugo?
Let Weaver finish. He only threw one bad pitch.
Was that an earthquake or just the shaky Yankees bullpen?
Brian, it is a 12:35PM start tomorrow.
Gracias!
Who was the last Yankee left handed hitter who had opposite field power?
2015 Greg Bird. Before that, Hideki Matsui.
Phillies still feasting on under .500 teams.
