Not a sports med doc, but I am skeptical of the current clinical practice of “Regenerative medicine” in basically everything outside of skin grafts, bone marrow transplantation, and pancreatic islet autotransplantation which have specific, limited indications. Especially with formulations like PRP or PPP, or with commercial “stem cell therapy” treatments that are not part of a clinical trial, there’s a total lack of standardization that significantly weakens the evidence base and leaves the field susceptible to quackery.
This is not at all to discount the awesome research that’s going on in the field of regenerative medicine – there’s tremendous potential there, and really cool biology – but at this point for a musculoskeletal injury I’m not convinced that anything could be expected to have more efficacy than placebo.

In all seriousness, who would you rather have facing the Red Sox in Game 3? Cole or Rodon? I think Game 2 HAS to be Fried, and hey, hopefully they’ve won Game 1 and two (hopefully. Not realistically, but hopefully!).
Rodon, absolutely. He’s been more reliable than Cole and his upside is just as high.
I wonder if it makes any sense to claim Doval to try to work on his stuff again this offseason. Probably not, but it’s interesting. The dude is under contract for next season, so it’s weird to just give that up if you’re the Pirates.
Either he’s uncoachable or a jerk (or both) because otherwise it’s indeed weird.

Optionality? They have a lot of optionality in the infield because nobody’s that good. I suppose Jazz has to play over phenom. At third there are no good options. What they need is optionality in the outfield, a LHH outfielder to sub for Ramos against RHPs like Sonny Gray for instance.
