Sure don’t like THIS matchup.
that judge single was amazing. outside and with tons of movement going away and i don’t think there are many hitters strong enough to yank it into left.
cmon 400 triple crown 75 hr’s lfg
oh great. here’s volpe for some reason.
rally averted
Boone needed to break up the lefties or so he thinks.
Volpe, doing what he does best.
Will Warren or won’t he already
Warren looking sharp
Yankee Noodle Dandy bats.
So much for that
pa: Is there a doctor on this flight?
dad: Did you hear that, Anthony?
dad: They’re not looking for weak contact to right field now, are they.
Limping home to face a team that mocked them in 2024.
I see DJ has already contributed.
run through the bag
is rice cooked?
One run in the last 16 innings, classic.
There’s the run, back-to-back two out doubles by Volpe and Jasson. Then came LeMahieu.
The move 100% was to bring in the lefty to face Dominguez. I love that they were hurt by their ego.
This game is about to get Matzeked
I love how Matzek has graduated to higher leverage work by sucking.
To be fair to Boone, the bullpen is obviously tired at the moment.
Why remove Matzek AFTER the K with a shitty hitter up?
It’s nice to have a bat like Reyes to come in and pinch hit.
Em-barrassing. However, you have to admit that this “five guys for four spots” deal has now given them some really good pinch hitting options late.
Would they have pinch hit Goldy for the Martian had they gone to Spier last inning?
I don’t think so.
It’s nice that it worked out but why hit PGold for JC rather than use Wells for JC and PGold for Vivas?
I think they just think Spier is too nasty against lefties.
I’m glad Warren won’t be a hard luck loser.
I feel another walk off loss looming.
Left fielder never moved. I wasn’t sure it was high enough.
Nice to see that guy contribute for a change.
I don’t know Seattle THAT well. Was this Vargas’ “lane”?
Or did they overreact to how well he pitched last night?
Walking Dominguez to get to DJ makes some sense.
Cruz/Williams?
Cruz for two?
Or is Weaver available?
Stanton had a 122.2mph DP.
Daaaaaaang.
Man, Raleigh is a legit really good hitter.
Dude, no one is going to swing at those pitches after you get them 0-2!
That wasn’t smart. That was smart!
What a great recovery there.
Who?
Goldy! Judgy!
DJ!
By the way, I certainly don’t mean to suggest stopping the splitter that drops way below the zone with two strikes. It just can’t be automatic after 0-2 each time.
That was dominant!
Their hitters aren’t great, but yes, that was AMAZING.
Yay, win.
Boone has had a nice season with the pinch hitting decisions thus far.
The key with Boone is to give him so many good players that it is hard to make a “bad” decision. Pinch-hitting Goldy in the seventh against a lefty was pretty much a no-brainer, but yes, hey, at least he DID do it!
Weaver is looking really good all season except for one game (where I don’t think he was warmed up enough).
Hooray for Will Warren.
The increasing frequency of really good starts by Warren could be HUGE.
If Warren were really good, then Fried + Gil + Warren + Schmidt + Rodon could be pretty damned good, and then you add Gerritt Cole to that next year – that could be historic.
Imagine then that they DO sign Tucker.
Yeah, Warren’s last two starts have definitely looked to be game-changing.
They changed the scoring, the 2-runs Warren allowed now ER.
That’s some AWFUL local scoring.
townies with another one run loss thanks to our old friend Chappy.
Saw a show on Hulu, Suspect about some bombings in London in 2005 where the police killed the wrong man, a white Brazilian when they were looking for a Black Somali. Think Richard Jewel times 1000.
