Yankees.com: Yankees select Cardinals RHP Winquest in Rule 5 Draft

Rockies: RHP RJ Petit (from Tigers, now COL No. 26 prospect)
White Sox: RHP Jedixson Paez (from Red Sox, now CWS No. 15 prospect)
Nationals: RHP Griff McGarry (from PHI, now WSH No. 30 prospect)
Twins: C Daniel Susac (from Athletics; later traded to Giants for C Miguel Caraballo and cash, now SF No. 15 prospect)
Pirates: RHP Carter Baumler (from BAL; later traded to TEX for RHP Jaiker Garcia and cash)
Athletics: RHP Ryan Watson (from SF)
Cardinals: RHP Matt Pushard (from MIA)
Astros: RHP Roddery Muñoz (from CIN)
Guardians: RHP Peyton Pallette (from White Sox, now CLE No. 19 prospect)
Blue Jays: RHP Spencer Miles (from SF)
Yankees: RHP Cade Winquest (from STL, now NYY No. 30 prospect)

The Yankees haven’t made a Rule 5 pick in over a decade, but more importantly, while I thought that Cashman should have protected more guys, it turned out that he was correct, as the Yankees didn’t lose a single guy. That’s great, as there were definitely some live arms left unprotected that might come in handy during the regular season.

Poor TJ Rumsfield, though. No one will ever claim him!

Petit, Paez, and Susac were legit prospects, so it’s interesting to see what happens with them.
