From Jackson Stone:
Aaron Judge’s remarkable season made its way to Kansas City — attempting to crash into the Royals’ record books in the process.
Judge’s first swing of the night on Tuesday in the Yankees’ 10-2 win sent a middle-middle fastball a Statcast-projected 469 feet — the longest home run of the season for the two-time AL MVP and the longest at Kauffman Stadium this year.
The two-run moonshot landed on top of the Royals’ Hall of Fame building well beyond left field, bouncing up and hitting the signage — the only thing stopping it from leaving the ballpark and finding its way onto the outfield concourse.
“I made sure to jump up and get to a good spot where I could really watch it,” manager Aaron Boone said. “I was under control, poised, I had to make sure I had a good view of it. That was evaporated.”
Judge home runs are awesome, but I don’t like how it took until the FOURTEENTH paragraph before Max Fried was mentioned. Granted, they were all very short paragraphs, but still. Fried was great in this game, as the Yankees appear to have rejiggered their rotation so that Fried will now pitch against the Red Sox in the finale of the Yankees’ upcoming series in Fenway.
DJ LeMahieu is hitting the ball with authority lately, and he had an amazing defensive play, as well. I’m not saying that they should start to rely on him, but boy, it’s getting tempting to think that he might be of use.
Jazz was kneed on his neck by his old rival, Maikal Garcia, while trying to tag Garcia as Jazz was stealing third, and Jazz was NOT happy. He later left the game with neck stiffness from where Garcia hit him with his knee. I doubt it’s anything major, but it’s annoying.
Ben Rice caught the last two innings, and I think we’re going to see him become the backup catcher when Stanton returns to get his bat into the lineup, with JC Escarra becoming the third string catcher. The interesting thing about THAT is that I don’t know who the fifth outfielder would be in that scenario. I guess Jazz?
Featured image is Fried walking off after completing seven strong innings. He really doesn’t like to react.
Brian, tell me (us) why Garcia is Jazz’s old rival!
Yankees.com actually did a story on it.

Excellent. Thanks!
Thanks for the link but it didn’t really say what the old was?
The @Yankees have announced that Marcus Stroman is currently scheduled to rehab with the Somerset Patriots and is expected to start the first game of today’s double header.
The guy is a career 111 era+ pitcher and even last year he pitched to a 3.5 era in the first half. There’s a better than even chance pushing Yarbrough to the pen or even possibly replacing Warren will be an upgrade.
It would be funny if he was terrible, the Yankees cut him, and he wound up with a team that had him throw a CG every other game just to screw the Yankees on the vesting option next year
Take my chances with Yarbrough over Stroman every time these days.
We’ve actually seen Yarbrough and Warren pitch well, sometimes really well. Warren, in particular, has real stuff, what does Stroman have that you’re interested in banking on? 111 is now the 90% projection you’re hoping for (in vain), and add to that his stellar personality.
I’m not banking on anything but he pitched to a 3.5 era last year in the first half. Will Warren has a career 6.75 era. He might flop and Warren might be this year’s Luis Gil for the rest of the year. Also Yarbrough should upgrade the pen. But no I’m not counting on Stroman being any good, but I’m not ruling out the possibility.
Yeah, he somehow managed to be cling to not awful in the first half before completely falling to pieces. I don’t think it looked like he was coming back from that, but – sure, crazier miracles have happened.
Stroman: 3.1 IP | 1 H | 1 R | 2 BB | 4 K Pitches (Strikes): 46 (27)

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the early draft picks.
Stanton 1-4 with a double. Roc Riggio, and that’s a good baseball name, 2-3 with a home run and is 367/1334 to start his AA stint.
