From Steve Kornacki:
Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. launched a go-ahead two-run homer Tuesday night in the sixth inning of a 4-3 win over the Tigers at Comerica Park. But it took an RBI double by catcher Austin Wells later in the sixth inning to seal the winning total for New York and break a three-game losing streak.
Chisholm, a left-handed hitter with power that belies his lanky 5-foot-11 frame, watched his 12th homer of the season sail high, deep and into the stands well over the heads of Detroit’s outfielders. Then he danced, pranced and slapped fives all the way from first base to the dugout.
And once inside the dugout, he grabbed a container of lollipops to shake and hold in front of the TV camera. It appeared to be a reference to his Lollipopapalooza incident. Chisholm was caught on camera Monday night sucking on a green lollipop while in the field at second base, and he received a talking-to from Yankees manager Aaron Boone ahead of Tuesday’s game.
Jazz really is a bit of a psycho. There is a reason why Boone was legit ANGRY at him, and Boone doesn’t get angry often. Who the fuck sucks on a lollipop in the fucking FIELD?!
In any event, Jazz has been playing well this year, so he gets to have his lollipop bit where he shows off the plastic jar filled with Blowpops. Good for him.
Rodon wasn’t GOOD, but he could have been worse. The bullpen was great.
The Rays AND Jays lost, so that’s nice.
Nice when they win games they so richly deserved to lose. (Somethiing that happens with almost surreal frequency.)
Of course, it’d be nicer if they’d deserved to win it.
Who cares if he sucks on a lolly though?
I dunno, sucking on a lollipop in the field seems pretty psycho behavior to me. That shit could EASILY hurt you.
Given how the Yankees handle medical issues I don’t really think they have a kick coming
I posted this last night-Waldo 3-6 and is now hitting 397/967 for June. I’d like to see him replace Schumann.
McMahon went on the Il and Waldo is back temporarily. I’d still like to see him replace Schumann for a variety of reasons.
Think they go Waldo at third, Rosario at second? Or do you play Rosario in left field and Waldo at third? Or WALDO at second, Rosario at third?
Weathers vs Skubal seems like a pretty fair matchup.
Wow, no Waldo at ALL. Lordy, Boone.

I actually don’t hate using Wells today. I think a shitty Wells is probably still more likely to get a hit than Sanchez, who is not exactly a lefty killer.
Sanchez is on paternity leave and may be headed for IL.
Oh duh, you’re right. So yes, of COURSE you start Wells over Escarra.
That must’ve been some tough birth he witnessed. Did the baby shoot out at him? 😎
