Sorry, I thought it was a 7:30 PM start. Oh well, the game’s already over anyways.
Talk about weak, that sums up Warren. Some guys would be pumped on Sunday night against a really good opposing pitcher. Not Warren.
Yeah, crazy. Warren’s not bad, but, yeah, he’s prone to these just explosive outings where he just can’t do ANYthing.
I dunno, Brian, seems more implosive to me.
I don’t think he’s choking. It’s not a high leverage came since we won the first two. I just think Warren is not good. He pitches an occasional good game but he’s not someone I want in the rotation. Warren is the kind of pitcher we featured in the early 90s.
Tim Leary, Andy Hawkins and Will Warren for the Wild Card series.
Warren gives off Ken Clay vibes.
Heck, it only took Warren 29 pitches to that damage. Way to go!
Yankees had some bad pitchers. Jeff Johnson 38 starts despite a career era of 6.52
Boone channeling von Clausewitz and Sun Tzu by strategically saving Warren for Crochet. Five more years.
What is Judge swinging at? Good grief.
I just watched the first. Warren was a little unlucky, just a little.
Props to Warren for hanging tough. He was hurt by a pop up that fell between Slater and Jazz that either could’ve caught and a couple of weak hits.
Okay, that was better, Judge.
Doval with a clean inning? Pig bites flying dog.
Cab and Amed contributed, Christian Slater not so much.
,
Must be nice to have an 8th inning guy like Whitlock Cash.
Trent 1-23.
I don’t mind STARTING Austin Slater, but doesn’t the guy have to show SOMEthing before he becomes the default leadoff hitter against lefties?
Hitting 111 as a Yankee. Rosario needs to play every game, somewhere, against LHPs.
Katie S Yankees batters vs Red Sox on Sunday: 16 K, 1 BB
Only 3 other times have the Yankees struck out 16+ times and had 1 or fewer walks in a 9-inning game:
April 2, 2025 vs ARI
Sept 10, 1999 vs BOS
Sept 1, 1997 vs PHI
Worst ERA by a Yankee vs Red Sox in a season (min. 3 starts) over the last 60 years:
2019 Masahiro Tanaka 24.75
2004 Jose Contreras 13.09
2025 Will Warren 9.42
2009 A.J. Burnett 8.85
They weren’t handcuffed by Crotchett.
If 8 innings are more predictive than 1, they outplayed the Red Sox.
They won the series, and they won all but one of the series in the vaunted “gauntlet.”
They came close to sweeping 2 of those.
You have to be pretty happy with that.
