    1. That with McMahon on deck Wells should be swinging 3-0. And as it turned out he got a good pitch to hit 3-0 but not 3-1. Maybe he had the green light and just chose not to swing.

  1. I’m down with not leaving Weaver in, I think they need to treat him like a bird.

But here’s Williams building up a reason to excuse his impending failure.

Ballplayers should be their own gardners.

  2. Our core two phenoms 1 and 2. The future is bleak. Even Volpe might’ve scratched out a ground ball. Wellz looked like he was closing his eyes and praying. CLUELESS.

    1. Obviously, it was mostly just luck, but smart pitchers like Fried really DO know how to battle better than dummies, ya know?

But yes, it was mostly just luck.

  3. What’d I miss? Looks like some wins!

Ok who’s pitching in the WC series?
    Fried, Rodon and ?
I think they need to turn another starter into a long reliever. Then along with Yarborough they barely have to use these crappy relief pitchers at all.

    1. 100% that’s what they’re going to do. Schlittler is the best suited for that role, but he might be too good to NOT just start outright.

Right now it’s Fried/Rodon/Gil in the rotation, I imagine.

  4. Katie S Jazz Chisholm Jr in 162 games with Yankees:
    40 HR, 48 SB, 70 BB

Chisholm is the only player in Yankees history to have ANY 162-game span with at least 40 HR, 40 SB and 70 BB.
