The Yankees had problems with the White Sox LAST year, when they had the most losses in Major League history. That does not bode well for this one.
Attaboy, Belli.
Now I fear the wind going out to right field, though.
By the way, how the fuck did no one trade for the Tauch Man?
Just when I was about to congratulate Martin on his no no, Cody breaks it up.
This briefly looked like a good inning for Warren.
By the way, obviously no one is ever going to be “worth” Garrett Crochet, but holy shit, does Kyle Teel look like a future multi-All-Star appearance player or what?
Or maybe Binder it’s more teams have their best hitters up in the first inning
Skeep-beep de-de-de-de
Scat-cat-da-di-di-di
Scop-bop-do-di-di-di-la-da-do

Oh, man, I’m just scatting and going right on to town, Satchmo!
Whoever told Volpe to try to bunt for his first hit is a fucking moron.
That would be fine if he actually could bunt. And there’s no excuse for him not to be able to bunt.
Oh, 100%. If bunting was something he normally did, then that’d be fine. Like, if Caballero tried to bunt for a hit, you’d say, “Oh, okay, that makes sense.” But when bunting ISN’T your thing, and you try to bunt to break a slump? That’s just pathetic.
Hey, an error is as good as a hit (it is not)!
That should be a charity hit.
“McMahon’s been working with James Rowson,” that explains a lot.
Binder really is chatty
SO CHATTY. I love the guy, but he TALKS SO MUCH. Especially when it’s with a “lesser” play-by-play guy. I think he knows Kay long enough that he defers to him a bit, as Kay was already established here when Girardi first arrived in 1996.
I saw a viral post about how Rice should be the starting first baseman next year. Wouldn’t he make so much more sense as the main side of a catching platoon with Wells? The benefit of having a catcher hit like Rice is HUGE.
As for Judge, hey, they were all strikes, so it’s hard to complain too much.
Not an ideal start to the bottom of the second.
Good lord, Volpe has
Got to be the
Worst player in mlb
So many fucking unneccesary balls. The story of the Yankee starting rotation.
Did he always let the ground balls play him? Is he playing scared? He can’t be this bad.
Martin won’t be long for the game, so hopefully the Yankees can score some runs off of the White Sox bullpen, because four runs ain’t going to be enough in this one.
How many fucking HBPs in 2 strike counts have I seen in the last month by Yankee pitchers?
Will Warren doing Will Warren things.
FIND THE PLATE, DUDE!
He did. A big part of the plate. He’s awful.
Jesus, Warren, what a fucking loser you are.
That’s why you find the fucking plate, dude! So you don’t have to groove pitches behind in the count!
Granted, that was beyond grooved, as it was a hanging sinker. But still, the main thought applies. When you fall behind, you put yourself into a terrible position. Walking the #8 hitter, hitting the #9 hitter, it’s just a pathetic failure to take your craft seriously.
Playing down to the level of the ChiSox.
Not optimal
Charitably Warren is mediocre at best and this is as good as he’s ever going to be.
Probably, but the anchor at shortstop is really infuriating.
I almost feel sorry for him but not sorry enough that I want to see him in the lineup.
A BB and a HBP on the 8th and 9th place hitters are all on Warren, after the Volpe error.
A bad ChiSox lineup and Warren gives up 4-runs on 47-pitches in two innings.
You have to KNOW the balls are flying, so the main thing you do is to NOT put runners on base. So you don’t walk the fucking #8 hitter and then hit the #9 hitter. It’s just so, so stupid.
And then falling behind the #2 hitter with the bases loaded and a really good hitter on deck. It’s just making your life so much harder than it needs to be.
Meanwhile you can look the other way at Volpe not hitting but you can’t tolerate him not handling routine ground balls. He’s already exceeded his previous high in errors.
Some awesome baserunning.
Judge with a chance to do damage flubbed the opportunity.
Yeah, good call.
Why can’t he find the fucking plate?!
An error, a walk, and a HBP. The Yankees are not good enough to give away free bases.
It was just so, so stupid.
The opposing pitcher is at 71 pitches through three, and yet it’s the Yankees who are going to have to empty their bullpen tonight. Just an absurd performance by Warren.
Boone said Yarbrough will be used in long relief. That might be a mistake.
Okay, a legit hit by Volpe. Phew. Now they can bench him for Caballero tomorrow without it being all about the hitless streak.
Surprised Volpe didn’t get confused and start running out the box to third.
Wow, Chicago not fucking around. Going to one of their better relievers in the fourth inning!
Yankee September schedule Astros, Blue Jays, Tigers, Boston. Could be a blood bath.
Dudes, do NOT TRY THAT SHIT! It will only FUCK YOU UP. Poor Vargas.
Stanton having the worst game he’s had in a while. And Belli’s baserunning continues to be AWFUL tonight.
Simple farmers. People of the land. The common clay of the new West.
Goldy against a lefty. Come on, Goldy!
Bullshit call there, blue.
Yankees need to keep scoring. They need more than six runs.
Surprisingly Jazz got the run in.
Kyle schwarber! Check out the Philly box score
Second four home run game this season in the Majors, right?
I really like Teel. I can imagine why Warren had him in the back of his mind with the bases loaded and Teel up next. Still no excuse for hanging a sinker (and for falling behind 2-0 to begin with).
So, so many stupid walks. What is up with the lack of intelligence for these guys?
I’d just bring in Hill here. Fuck Warren.
This ump is ass
True.
Once it was 1-2, I was thinking, “Now way this guy is going to see another strike.”
Wow, pleasantly surprised that it was only THREE balls in a row after it was 1-2, and not four!
Honestly, I probably still bring Warren back to start the 6th at this point. Need the bullpen to not get too tired in Game 1 of a four-game series.
Well, BEST case scenario would be for them to just add on some more fucking runs. Then Camilo fucking Doval could finish things off.
I get the logic of bunting on Baldwin, but you have to be able to DO it, McMahon!
Schwarber, with 4 HR’s, at 49 on the season.
Rice is amazing, but he seems to take that third strike in that exact spot a lot.
Who in the bullpen will blow this to the mighty 2025 ChiSox?
I still would have given Warren another inning, but failing that, Cruz was the right choice. I might even try to get a couple more outs from Cruz.
Warren was at 93 pitches, that was enough.
Too many pitches to be sure, but he’s young. Save some bullpen outs.
This ump sure has an “Interesting” zone.
Outside one at-bat yesterday, I have been loving the return of plate discipline Judge!
If they want to walk you, let them walk you! Trust in Belli and Stanton to drive you in.
Was this pitcher ever a Yankee?
It’s funny how even a single bad game from Stanton weirds me out.
Huge inning right here with 1-2-3 due up. Just go to Weaver?
Wow, what an inning by Weaver!
Moar runs please!
Volpe with RISP and no outs. Ruh roh.
At least he managed a sac-fly.
Much more than I expected, so no complaints here.
TPTG!
Williams is already up, so i guess Williams for the ate, and then Leiter for the ninth?
TPTG.
Grisham is making himself a lot of $. I just don’t think it should be here. He reminds me too much of hicks. Don’t sign a guy to a long term deal off of one good year
Up five in the eighth, definitely the time to start throwing only balls, Williams.
Man, when Williams is on, he is fucking ON.
No idea why Caballero was taking two pitches there.
That was one of the oddest at-bats of the year. Just stood there and took three straight pitches down the middle.
I think DeviW has struck out 18 of the last 25 hitters he’s faced allowing only 2 hits and a walk. ??? !!!
Low leverage Williams for the win!
I’d almost just blow Blackburn’s arm out at this point.
After this week they’re going to score about 7 more runs the rest of the season. They’re using them all up.
If only Leiter could approach hitters like this in high leverage situations.
Okay, so they did win 1-of-4 against the ChiSox. Good for them.

Since August 27th Anthony Volpe
2 hits
1 error
Heading to Toronto or Boston for a Wild Card series will be a short and shitty end to this season.
