I mean, you really have to be fucking kidding me with this shit. I sure don’t get how a UCL injury isn’t going to keep Chisholm out for the rest of the season. Insanity. If the Yankees trade for you at the trade deadline, you WILL get injured apparently. Just madness.
why is vertigo leading off?
might as well go judge soto stanton so the big guys get at least an extra at bat
I really DO think they should just lead Judge off going forward at this point. The Dodgers lead off THEIR big guys, after all.
he posted a 1200ops leading off in 2022. it wasn’t that long ago!
Yankees go down meekly in the first, Wells swinging at strike 3 out of the strike zone.
Nestor looked good.
Last month hitters batting 358 against Nester who has a 9 era in that period. Thats got to be some kind of a near Yankee mil(le)stone
Waldo has a higher OPS hitting left than Gleyber, DJ or phenom
.
Soto Oppo
Every time Soto seems like he’s in a SLIGHT slump, he does something like that.
The White Sox are not (52-65).
Gianni not swinging on that 2-2 was shocking.
Verdugo has been awful since May 1, and shows that again, yet they keep running him out there. Brian Cashman Saboteur.
Who else is there? Grisham? Martian is hitting worse in AAA than Verdugo is here. If Jasson were hitting and Verdugo were still playing every day it would be different.
Yeah, I think it’s all reasonable enough to not call up The Martian just yet. They might want to try Waldo in left, though.
Ideally a RHB. Rosario platooning with Verdugo would work but he’ll never pass thru waivers.
agreed.
Peraza is .258 .378 .710 in August.
Sadly Jazz is now out so the outfield depth is yet again shot.
that SS Durbin has been hitting well, has a few games in LF.
vertigo is a lost cause.
Five men LOB already. This could go bad in a hurry if we don’t score some more.
Rinse, repeat.
Sometimes Waldo hits left against left and sometimes he switch hits. He’s been terrible hitting right handed.
It seemed like going into this year they were just going to make him a full time lefty and abandon the switch experiment.
Wait, they broke Jazz already? This goddamn team.
Last years #1 George Lombard hitting 040 in high A.
Wasn’t doing all that much in low A either. Arias even worse.
O’s lose.
Chaparro 3/4 with 3 doubles. He hit 328/977 in AAA this season.
Three won’t do it.That was a nice AB phenom.
Rinse, repeat, now part on the other side.
Out of the night, when the full moon is bright
Comes the batsman known as Soto
These frustratingly annoying relievers piss the shit out of me.
Leiter previous game 0.2ip 3r, 3h, 1 BB. Tonight 0.2ip, 1r, 1 h, 2bb. Cashman really nailed the trade deadline. In all fairness Leiter is better than De Los Santos who oddly is still here.
Kahnle got lucky.
Now that was frustrating
SO FRUSTRATING. WHAT THE FUCK?!
Holmes isn’t in?
Here comes our bullpen walking the leadoff hitter in a 3-run game, 3-run lead because of 3 HR’s by Soto.
It’s all right in front of us.
They somehow won. The Mighty White Sox are a tough foe.
Boone has full confidence in the pen.
I like that Cousins at least strikes guys out.
Leiter has allowed 5 runs, 13 hits, 4 walks and 2 HBP in 7.1 innings pitched for the Yankees. And he’s better than the other reliever Cash picked up.
Leiter + Enyel as Yankees
13.2 IP, 15 ER, 38 baserunners
Leiter had the one bad game. He’s made eight appearances for the Yankees, and he’s allowed no runs in five of the appearances, one run in two of the appearances, and three runs in the one appearance.
He’s been fine outside of that Texas game. Now, he HAS allowed runs in his last two appearances, so sure, if he starts giving up runs every appearance, then that would be a problem, of course.
Eh Leiter is supposed to be a swing and miss guy, but here he is with a 2.3 WHiP and walking 6/9IP. He absolutely can’t come into a game where the Yankees need to save bullpen arms and walk guys. Same with Kahnle. There’s not giving in to hitters and then there is keeping them off the bases.
Some thoughts:
1) can’t blame Boone for the disaster of a bullpen; that’s on cashman who after 25 years and a huge payroll still can’t figure out how to build a team.
2) 71 wins – unless they lose their next 41 games the B-ref projection system will be proven wrong.
3) despite a terrible manager, offensive holes in LF, 3b, 2b, SS they are only 1/2 game out of the best record in MLB. Which just goes to prove how awesome judge and Soto are. Sign Juan for whatever he asks for and then add $1 just to make him even happier.
1b is concussed, cooked, or kinder
You can ALWAYS blame Boone. Don’t sell yourself short.
judge up to 500 for August
