Yes, I know Eo dominates them every time they face him. And I know the Yankees have been the chokiest chokes that ever choked the last couple of weeks. But I’m sure this will somehow not be a terrible result. Totally. Super positive.
These fuckers have even ruined the return of Judge, as Stanton is now pushed out of the lineup, and he’s been basically mini-Judge for the last week or so and they’ve STILL sucked. Now, when Stanton plays next, he’ll be nice and out of it, so he can go into a prolonged slump himself.
I bet Stanton will DH tomorrow and Judge will sit. They might let Stanton play RF some when they get home.
Career year at 35. Is he taking Big Jamba Juice? Boone won’t have to worry who’s closing this evening.
The only question is will Will keep it close and will we lose like 3-1 or we’ll it be a onesided loss.
Miami starters gave up 13 runs the last 2 days. We didn’t see those starters.
I was just about to comment that of course Houston gets the shitty Marlins pitchers, but moreover, what irks me is that the Marlins wanted Lombard or Jones for one of those shitty starters, their 6 plus ERA starter who makes almost $20 million a year.
I’m shocked that Warren is at 45 pitches through the 2nd inning. Well, not really. Struggling against that Texas line-up tells a story about Warren, and it isn’t a good story.
Will Warren gets the Carlos Rodon award
Way to make him not work at all, Yankee hitters!
Judge 2 AB, 2 K’s.
Joc will be hitting .320 by the time this series is over.
Pederson was 4-36 before NY came to town.
Will Warren may be a very good pitcher some day for KC or Tampa or SF.
Boston never even has to raise a sweat any more to win. As long as phenom SS and phenom C are our future, we don’t have a future.
By tomorrow night the yanks will be out of a playoff spot. Fascinating.
This offense is offensive.
Saturday and Sunday Miami starters gave up two hits each game. Today Evo one hit so far. Seattle pitchers. Cubbies pitchers. This team will never win a playoff series against any team with a couple of aces.
Good Yankee teams won World Series from great Atlanata pitchers. Good Yankee teams played Pedro even.
I’m glad the guys in the dugout are having fun.
Such an inning.
A lot of first pitch swinging. Was that Boone’s or Rowson’s plan.
That have a plan? 🤷🏻♂️
A bad plan is possible.
Eury 6ip 2h 0R. Cabrera 6ip 1r 2h a leadoff home run. Evo 7ip 0r 1h
Bellinger is the only Yankee who could get a hit like that.
If we’re really lucky Devin might get the L. Yankees are lucky to still be in the game.
Oh good. Williams. I was getting a little sleepy and was starting to worry it might go to extras.
Did … did Coney just drop a “carpet matches the drapes”?
Yes he did
How many pitches was that inning?
Nine. Three, five, one.
The Martian is a bad left fielder but Devin gave up a 103mph line drive which is as bad.
Why do they continue to run Williams out there? He should get the DFA treatment.
Now when it comes to choking Devin is the champ matched only by Yankee batters in xtras on the road.
How was he ever a successful closer in MLB?
Pete Alonso broke him [Devin Williams] in the 2024 post season.
Cashman always thinks he’s the smartest one in the room, but he’s been past his use by date since 2017. What teams keep a GM around ~25 years?
Shocked. I am SHOCKED to find there is suck-ass relieving going on in this establishment.
Mercifully, it is over. Not officially, but it is over.
At least they’re legit moving him down in the pecking order. Hopefully it’s the 7th inning next time.
He needs to go home for the rest of the year
It’s really amazing just HOW bad Williams was in that inning.

Did Blake lose his mojo?
He’s not going to change a veteran like Williams. I think he’s been fine with the projects/younger guys. A full Spring Training with Leiter helped him a lot, for instance, and the same with Cruz.
Headrick, De Los Santos. The problems are the vets who SHOULD be good. Like Lo and Williams, and Weaver for that brief period.
And also the fliers like Gottlieb.
He’s just a guy, better than some, but none of them are magicians.
Pete Alonso gave Devin PTSD
You know, if we’re going to have a manager who just sits around and does nothing while the world burns, we may as well dig up Billy Martin and prop him up on the bench.
Weekend at Billy’s would be WAY more entertaining than this.
Seriously – when they lose tomorrow
And are out of a playoff spot how can the sleeping owner not wake up and see he’s about to lose a lot of money unless he fires Boone? Bringing in DevoW is almost like daring ownership to fire him.
Tonight won’t do it but winning at a 40% clip for 2 months might.
If McMahon gets on, do you pinch hit Stanton for Volpe?
Well, no.
After a terrible start to his Yankee career Delvin settled down but now has give up nine runs in his last 9 games. Devin’s era 5.44.
I grabbed my rally cap, but it turned to dust.
This past weekend would have been a good time to fire Aaron Boone.
With Eo, I guess it was impressive that they even had a chance, but yeah, mostly it just sucked.
They’ve bumped WIlliams out of the closer role, which is at least a small step forward. Keep bumping him down in the pecking order.
The crazy thing is that Bednar is under contract for next year. He WILL be the closer next year, so why the fuck didn’t they just fucking make him the closer NOW!? Why was that even a fucking DEBATE?!
They only had a chance because Texas went 0 for 15 with RISP. They never put the slightest bit of pressure on EVO. I’d bet if Boston or Toronto or the Cubs or the Phils went up against Eury and Cabrera and Evo over that span they would put up some fight in at least 1 or 2 games.
Hal’s Yankees play baseball like nepo babies.
It infuriates me to hear people say the Yankees are bad because they “overemphasize” analytics. I really doubt that the problem is any directives emanating from nerds in the FO. Any true baseball nerd knows that fundamentals and analytics are not at odds. (Many of us nerds were able to compete a lot longer than our altogether lacking raw talent would have carried us, because we loved the game and learned it inside and out. I myself am proud to have made it as far as my 8th grade baseball team – not bad for a zero-tool player.)
The Yankees are not bad because of nerds. They are bad because nepo babies tolerate mediocrity, feel threatened by competence, and hire players and staff who, like the nepo babies themselves, think this shit is just going to be handed to them.
Well said Veggie.
IOW, Cashman is well past his use by date.
Wasn’t the eighth tonight the high leverage inning considering the 345 hitters were up? Which I guess is why Boone went to Devin.
Boone “We gotta help Devin turn the corner. I remain confident in this group.” Boone said he wanted to turn it into a four out save for Bednar. Curry said if you don’t get Tellez out there is no 4 out save.
