    1. The Martian is off limits. Judging strictly by the numbers Spence is expendable. By now he should’ve broken out.

  1. With JD Davis in the 4 spot they will have to pitch to Judge. JD before that AB 077/200/154.

It’s hard to believe Cash couldn’t find better RH depth than Jones and Davis.

  2. Just who you want up with two guys on.
He’s got protection, though. (And he is the guy you want protected.)(Or maybe we need the protection – from lineups like this.)

  3. Why does this team have to have so many totally horrible players? And why does Boone need to play them? And why does he have to bat after Judge?

Mets are just totally disrespecting Boone for batting this chump 4th.

  4. Yankees 3 hits and 4 walks. Take an offensively challenged team and then mix in Jones, Davis and Narvaez and you’ve got a Bizarro Juggernaut.

  5. Crazy cause they need, what, like 4 hittes to have a 100 OPS besides Judge and Soto and they’d score 5 runs a game. And that’s asking 4 too many.

But hey at least it’s almost 1 good turn through the rotation. (Jinx)

  6. Why would Soto want to return to this team where Hal and Cash will be forever searching the scrap heap as long as attendance and YES ratings are good. Third Wild Card a rousing success.

Must suck to pitch for this team.

    1. Pinella, Skowron, Granderson and Gene Woodling. In all fairness JD Drew also.

  7. Cashman and Boone joint avatars of ineptitude.

RAB Jones and J.D. Davis are a combined 0-6 with 4 K and a GIDP. They’ve taken 14 swings and whiffed 9 times. These are the players the Yankees choose to bat around Juan Soto and Aaron Judge.

    14 swings, 9 misses!

  8. All 8 of the mutts are better than all but 3 or 4 of the Yankees today. Position by position they win every battle except Right and Center. Same with Boston.

  9. Too high a hill for this lineup. Cashman should have been gone 7 years ago when I wanted him gone, and we would have never been stuck with Boone then.

  10. RAB In three games against the Mets this season, Aaron Judge has reached base 11 times in 12 plate appearances. He has scored two runs, both on his own home run.

  11. One of the writers tried to bait Boone on Davis asking what he thought of Davis’s at bats. What did Boone think of Mendoza walking Judge with Davis up next. Boone kind of double talked adding the middle of the lineup will be settled soon.

  12. Kirschner: Boone on Davis pre game

“Yeah. We went through that stretch of 10 days where we were seeing all lefties and then we hadn’t seen any for a while. It’s a reason we brought him in here. With the illness and getting back healthy now and a few days of work here, hopefully he’s ready to roll and give us a little spark.”

    On why he’s batting 4th

“You’re able to replicate things so much better with the things we have available to us. He went on the IL for the illness so there’s only so much you can do. … Hopefully he could be a little bit of a presence in the middle for us.”

    Sounds like Professor Irwin Corey

the other options are bad, too, of course, but holy shit, what an answer.

Seriously, dude, if a guy can ONLY PLAY against lefties, he should not be leading off or batting cleanup.
