I tend to think that hitters facing their former teammate have an advantage, so it’ll be interesting to see how Weathers does tonight.
The Marlins obviously have a strong rotation, but if you’re going to hit someone, it SHOULD be Meyer.

This is the Weathers experience to a tee. Dominates the first batter, gets ahead of the second guy, then loses the strike zone entirely.
Such a frustrating experience. Awful walk, bloop single, and then a two-strike triple. Ugh.
Just another fucking headcase. He gets ahead and then dicks around. Obviously, though, these are the guys that, if you ever get through to them, they become great. It sometimes takes a while. You can’t give up on stuff like this.
Also, it is fucking absurd that the Marlins are, like, “We need to look at the replay ourselves before we challenge it.” Why is that allowed?! Shouldn’t it be about calls that are CLEARLY wrong?
No challenge on that 3-0 pitch to Rice which seemed high. The same thing happened with Jazz earlier in the season. It came back to bite him with the K, I think Jazz failed to reach on his AB as well when he didn’t challenge the clearly outside 3-0 pitch
I suspect Rice might be doubting himself after challenging a strike right down the middle yesterday.
Whatever, this just seems like one of those Murphy’s Law games.

Doval is just such a nutjob.
He has to pitch, but make him PROVE it before you just hand him the 8th.

Doval is really a guy where the three batter rule kills you, since you can tell right away if he has it or not. And when he doesn’t, he can’t recover.

In all seriousness, I think that that last hit was almost good for Bednar, as he obviously felt more confident against Conine.
Well, that was more interesting than it needed to be. But, yay, win.
Glad to see Judge straighten out his footwork in the box so he can stay on a pitch.
Hopefully Fried can give the bullpen a breather tomorrow. Can’t wait for Cole and Rodon to return. Would be fantastic to have a rotation of four guys who can go seven innings every time, with Warren as a passable #5 guy hopefully going six.
