I know it technically isn’t, but I really think that this is the season right here. If they can’t win with Max fucking Fried against a rookie, then they have NO chance at making the playoffs.
And why in the world is Stanton sitting for fucking Goldy?
Already, Volpe? ALREADY?!?
Okay, season over. Duly noted. Fuck you, Volpe, but, also, fuck you, Fried.
Why in the fuck wouldn’t you have just fucking walked him with first base open, two outs, and a 3-0 count?! Just MORONIC pitching by Fried.
phenom really is a head case. We throw that term around too much. He’s a well below MLB hitter. But talent wise he’s at least an average short stop. Even bad short stops aren’t this bad. This is a choke job like I’ve never seen before. Maybe Knoblauch at 2B. Maybe Mackey Sasser. +14 OAA last year, -3 this year. Leads all of baseball in errors. I feel bad for him but he needs some kind of therapy.
Baseball Savant Gleyber 41 fielding run value, phenom 33.
Goldy at the #3 spot is INSANE.
At the VERY least, they can’t bat Goldy at the top of the lineup against righties. If they INSIST on him playing for defense, then whatever, but bat him sixth or lower. Do not bat this fucking dude anywhere near the top of the lineup. It’s just MADNESS.
Gil 4ip 0r 2h 7k 67 pitches, probably he’ll throw another 10 pitches. Jones in the lineup, 1-1.
Trading Volpe last Spring would’ve been the greatest trade in baseball history. I would’ve hated it.
The ump fucked him on ball four, but what in the world was Fried doing trying to get the same pitch called three balls in a row?!
That was a strike easy, it wasn’t even on the line, it
was inside the box. Are the umpires getting worse? My long time solution only half the umps should be allowed to call balls and strikes.
What are the odds that Fried is hiding an injury?
Nice job, Volpe; nice job, Fried.
Yeah, as bad as Volpe was, Fried can’t escape how poorly he pitched to Loduca.
Yandy swinging 3-0 was a fucking GIFT.
Yeah, SWB therapy.
I don’t think Volpe is busted, but he needs some time off. Send him to AAA to reset. The Yankees will cook him if they just let him continue to fail.
I imagine the scouting report on Jazz is, “This dummy will swing at ANYthing.”
Jazz last 14 days 237/652
That 2-0 pitch to McMahon was really impressive.
McMahon evoked Jazz on his K.
McMahon with a terrible AB
REALLY bad swings towards the end.
At least Volpe also sucks at hitting.
0/30 on four seamers.
Rays bring up Joe Boyle, Yankees promoted Winans and Schlittler and Warren is in the rotation.
Per above, SWB therapy for Volpe.
Rays were in free fall, but the Yankee showed them the meaning of free fall. Without Judge are the Rays the better hitting team? They pitch better. They defend better.
Fried really is a pretty big choker. Fuck this guy so hard. I mean, as a #2 behind Cole next year, I’m sure he’ll be fine, but he sure as fuck isn’t an “ace.”
I don’t know it’s hard to tell. Remember when Mussina couldn’t get anybody out for half a season? Volpe OTOH is making errors on plays that high school players could make.
Thank goodness useless Goldy is up here. Great lineup, Boonie!
Of our young players is Jasson the only one league average?
Okay, NOW Boyle looks more like the Yankee rookie starters.
Best player on the team, after The Chief Justice of course.
Bryan is spot on with PGold. Boone refuses to acknowledge the obvious.
I think the ump read too many Penthouse letters. Sometimes he’s a hitter’s ump, sometimes a pitcher’s ump.
Runs!
Why is Kay watching the Jay’s game instead of Boston, Seattle and Texas?
Can Volpe make a productive out?! All signs point to no.
Boyle should have been pulled the instant he gave up a hit to Volpe with a runner in scoring position
phenom made up for half the runs he gave away.
Need Grisham or Rice to get on so that at least Goldy can face a lefty.
You can’t defend speed. Except when you do.
Okay, Goldy, you get a lefty. Prove you’re not washed.
Good call
Okay, you can remain a platoon bat, Goldy.
Sure, open up the next inning by going 2-0 on the nine hitter.
Spencer Jones falling back to earth, no home runs, 2-4 with a double 405/1399
Fried at 97 pitches. Who do we trust with a 3 run lead?
I would honestly try to steal an out or two with Fried.
Or three.
In all seriousness, I would have pulled him at 3-0 to the catcher. He clearly was out of it. Just give a reliever a CHANCE to get the out.
Keeping him in the game is INSANE.
I don’t know Aaron. If a lefty was up sure.
Insanity leaving Fried in there
Boone does plenty of dumb things, but that was one of the dumbest things he has done all season. What a fucking IDIOT.
Gil: 4.1 IP | 3 H | 1 R | 1 ER | 1 BB | 7 KK | 1 HR
Just idiotic after a 4 pitch walk.
Three run lead with a runner on first, two outs, and the #9 hitter at the plate, or two-run lead with a runner on second, two outs and the leadoff hitter at the plate? Which one is a better spot for a reliever, Boone, you fucking idiot?
This is not a guy used to throwing 120 pitches.
It was just mind-boggling stupid.
No further damage, but not for lack of Boone desperately trying!
Blue Jays lose 2.
The American League is really awful.
Same as 2024, which is how the Yankees with Boone made the WS.
Maybe this is why Boone wanted to keep Fried in.
You have a bunch of 4 or 5 inning starters and only 2 or 3 relievers with a pulse, you’re in trouble.
Ha. Volpe. What a fucking bum.
Turned it off after the walk. Glad I missed Volpe’s error.
Devin Williams doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.
LOL Volpe and Williams made it interesting.
Katie S Anthony Volpe MLB Ranks This Season:
15 HR (t-5th most by SS)
