It’s put up or shut up time. If you’re a serious playoff contender, then, well, you know, contend.
Once he JUST missed off the plate on the two balls, I saw that shit coming from a mile away. He was going to come back over the plate, and Caminero knew it. Some really stupid pitching by Schlittler.
That it was a hanging slider was even dumber, of course.
And all with two outs and no one on. He just got in his own head.
And the homer obviously rattled him, leading him to walk the next dude.
This is typical young pitcher nonsense, but it’s still very fucking annoying.
Well, they’re in the schlittler already.
While this is happening, the Blue Jays quickly score three runs with two outs in THEIR game, as well.
It doesn’t matter how good your stuff is if you can’t locate it, Schlittler.
Falling apart, 29 pitches and counting.
You simply HAVE to be able to throw A strike, dude.
Luck always helps.
Seven walks in 11 innings won’t cut it even if you throw 99.
We saw it right there on that out. He got the out, but Gray crushed it, because he was able to sit dead red knowing Schlittler was going to concentrate on getting the ball over the plate more than anything else. Just a pathetic performance.
The classic Yankee “Hit with RISP that scores no run.” So now watch them strand all three runners.
Didn’t want ball 3 Jazz?
I’m just stunned he took Ball 4.
Schlittler’s, like, “Well, hey, at least I didn’t walk in a run!”
I think you have to take strike one in this instance. I know some people think you have to swing since he has to throw you a strike. I disagree.
I saw someone say the other day that Goldschmidt has to start hitting for more power to make up for Judge’s absence, and it’s, like, “Oh, okay, sure, I’ll just start doing that.”
Brutal K there, Goldy. He probably should just sit against righties at this point.
What a rally! Woohoo! Bases loaded walks!
Schlittler threw 31 pitches and gave up two runs, and Rasmussen has somehow given up two runs while being up to 32 pitches and counting. Insanity.
DO NOT SWING AT THE FIRST PITCH, WELLS!
Second pitch popup with the bases juiced. Nice, Wells.
Wells is a huge disappointment.
Ay-yep.
Yay Tampa walks. Boo Yankee walks.
A hit would’ve been really nice there Austin.
Seven pitch inning for the Yankees. A completely uncompetitive AB for phenom.
Hurt again by soft contact. Annoying.
I thought disaster was imminent.
Doubling up Simpson was VERY impressive, right?
Goldy is still a good defender, but oh man, is he washed as a hitter.
That was such an embarrassing walk by Schlittler.
Good to be lucky.
Luck runs out.
Seven hits and 4 walks in 4.1ip. I don’t care if he throws 99. And now the dregs of a bad bullpen.
I’m not even sure I’d rather see Schittler than Carrasco pitching next week.
His WHIP of 1.548 going in has gone up. With Cam and phenom we’re set for a while.
These are all things that young pitchers work through. You deal with that for the upside of that crazy nice stuff.
But yes, it would be nice if he figured this shit out sooner.
Even in an overall poor performance, Schlittler really does show a lot of interesting pitching skill.
Sure and if we weren’t in free fall it might matter.
First baserunner since the first.
This fucking high flying, high scoring, dangerous offense sure disappears a lot. Two runs forced in by walks.
Red Sox and Yankees mirror images of each other, in a really bad way.
They really need a reliever who can actually strike someone out in a big spot. Weaver ain’t it. And I still like Weaver a lot, but he ain’t that.
Ian Hamilton is good…..not so much.
Nicely done, Weaver.
What I don’t get, though, is why did they pull Headrick? He was already going to be burned for the next couple of games, why not let him eat some more innings?
Dickey, Berra, Howard, Thurm, Jorge and then Sanchez and Wells, What went wrong? At least Gary was good for a while, Wells was good for a month. Wells 214/709 and of course phenom 213/683. The future is bright.
Two runs scored only thanks to a badly misplayed fly ball and two walks.
Taylor Walls makes that play for fun. Our gold glove SS could not. But at least he’s a good hitter.
That’s two non errors that should’ve been made by our great defensive infield.
Too high a hill for the Yankees to climb.
Yankees make struggling relievers, 5+ era last 12 games, healthy.
Yankees showing teams in free fall what free fall really looks like. This game should not even be close. Rays get swept by Reds, dominate Yankees.
I think they should sell and not buy. They aren’t winning this year. Time to plan for 2026-27.
Once they are at it fire Boone. And cashman. This just isn’t working. Lucked out last year in a bad AL.
why not get rice and at bay against fairbanks? they actually have depth to play match ups. boone sucks.
Was Kay being sarcastic when he said let’s see if the Yankees can rally?
Ha Ha

Yup; Ferguson is the answer to our problems! Well he might be if we trade Boone for him.
Awful, awful loss, paired with the Red Sox winning late. So now tied with the Sox, and I imagine that tie will not last long.
Yankees frontrunners for Dustin fucking May?! He’s fucking AWFUL! What in the fucking WORLD?!
RIP, Ryne Sandberg.
Is the idea that perhaps they trade Grisham for May and call Jones up?
I thought trading Grisham before Judge went down was a good idea.
Era+ 84, FIP 4.69. Why would they want him?
No fucking clue. I mean, don’t get me wrong, May has been good in his career right up until this season, but this season he has been so bad that, well, as you rightly ask, WHY?
Nice piece of news, Clarke Schmidt got the internal brace version of TJS, so he’ll be back next season.
Katie S “Yankees are 11-19 in games vs AL East teams this season.
This is the 2nd time since division realignment in 1994 that the Yankees went 11-19 or worse in their first 30 division games.
It also happened in 2016.”
Also it’s the 4th worst record of any team in their division this year.

Wins, Last 39 Games:
Colorado Rockies, 16
Chicago White Sox, 16
New York Yankees, 15
The Yankees somehow remain in first place in the Wild Card after the Angels defeat the Rangers, and the Red Sox blow a ninth inning lead to the Twins. The Mariners won, though, so they’re back to a half-game behind the Yankees.
Huh? I thought Boston win which explain this post that when I read I did not understand.

GOOD JOB, THE MINNESOTA
The important thing to remember is that as much as the Yankees suck, these OTHER teams suck, too, ya know?
It’s very much a race to see who sucks least to see which three teams make the Wild Card in the AL.
