  1. So Volpe comes back from a few days off and hits well…where have we seen this before? And let’s make sure we never give the guys a day off.

“We need a 3b”. Where have we heard that before? Oh yeah from everyone on this site since January. Cashman sucks.

    1. There’s a legit argument that the shitty Stroman we’ve seen the last year really WAS injury-related. Not that he is a great pitcher by ANY means, but just not the SHITTY version of himself. He really should be a serviceable fourth-fifth starter.

  2. Martian last 26 PAs 208/519. He really is the odd man out for now. He needs to get his power numbers up and that’s often the last skill that develops for younger players.

  3. Hey, at least they got A run somehow.

It makes up for the Olson home run.

I imagine that’s it for Stroman, right? Can’t complain about six innings and one run.

Or do you try to steal outs in the seventh before having Tim Hill finish the 7th and pitch the 8th?

  4. Spencer 4-5 again, last 2 days 8-10, 3 home runs, 1 walk and only 1 strikeout, now at 426/1422. Pereira with a home run In back to back days.

    1. Too bad neither of those guys can play SS or 3b.
If only we knew in the offseason that our left side of the infield was weak hitting our brilliant best in the game GM would have taken care of it. Alas it was a problem that came out of nowhere.

    2. I truly don’t know how Cash could have addressed third base in the offseason. The options just weren’t there for what the Yankees could pay.

    3. Alex B says hi; ok too much $.
Are you saying Colorado or Arizona would not have traded in the offseason?

    4. I am DEFINITELY saying Arizona wouldn’t have traded during the offseason.

As for Colorado, McMahon is making $15 million a year! Cash had probably $5 million to play with. There just wasn’t anyone out there.

  5. According to the Baseball America signing tracker, 8th-round pick Mac Heuer has signed his name on the dotted line. The Yankees have signed all of their picks from the first ten rounds.

The 21-year-old right-handed pitcher made 14 starts for Texas Tech in 2025, going 2-4 with a 6.28 ERA in 53 innings with a 48/23 K/BB. He was originally drafted by the Cleveland Guardians in 2023 but opted to go to college for two years. He also has Cape Cod League roots, throwing 6.2 innings as a 19-year-old in 2023.

I assume that his talent exceeds his performance, which makes sense. He is a big kid (6’5″) who supposedly hums in the mid-to-upper 90s.
