Sorry, this was supposed to go up earlier today. I guess the scheduler didn’t work.
At least Nestor waited until the 3rd inning.
Yankees get JD Davis and cash for Groshans. Davis is pretty much OPS+ 96 for the year, 112 for his career.
Didn’t the A’s give up on Groshans just this season?
Over under DJ for the season 650?
Volpe adds to the Yankees MLB leading GIDPs. We have a slim lead over San Diego and it’s a big lead over 3rd place Miami.
4-9 against Baltimore, Boston and Atlanta look l8ke championship caliber. And sure Sale and Fried are terrific but you don’t win a championship if you can’t beat terrific pitchers.
Oh good. Running on contact. Works every time.
Once that out was made, the eventual GIDP was pretty much guaranteed.
It still hurt to see it from Verdugo.
Ah, another DP, congrats guys.
Vertigo with another DP. He’s been shite lately threatening to fall under 700.
I still really don’t get how Volpe got thrown out at third. Do they even slightly teach baserunning?
Next to last on all baserunning metrics. That’s on Boone.
Just like Waldo getting thrown out by a mile down one in the 10th the other day.
The Red Sox are fucking red hot right now. It’s not fun to watch.
Gleyber sucks, and yet I’d still prefer he bat cleanup over Verdugo.
Hell, at this point, just fucking bat Rice cleanup. He at least seems like he is trying
yes
J.D. Davis, DH, is going to be so weird.
We coulda had Jasson, but he has become injury prone.
Yeah, that was some really shitty timing.
DJ 185/465 after 21 MLB games and 65 ABs. Glad he’s signed thru 2026.
He turns 36 in a few weeks, he’s done.
Another series loss, 4 of the last 5.
I knew before they made the 3 outs.
No team is as good as it looks during a winning streak or as bad as it looks during a losing streak. But this is getting very annoying.
If I may sum up my considered reaction to this game:
Fuck.
Stanton was placed on the 10-day injured list prior to Sunday’s game against the Braves, marking his eighth trip to the IL in the past six seasons. In a corresponding move, the Yankees recalled infielder Oswald Peraza from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said there was no word yet on the severity of the strain for Stanton, who underwent an MRI on Sunday in New York, but the club believed it would be significant enough to cost him time. Stanton missed 43 games last season with a left hamstring strain.

So unlike them to immediately admit that an injury is definite, let alone that it doesn’t look good.
He must be dead, and have been ressurected, and died again.
The fact that he missed 43 games with a hamstring injury suggests it probably will be that again. He’s pretty consistent with how his body breaks down.
Brian, yes, absolutely. But you’re discussing reality, and I’m talking about the Yankees consistently bizarre approach to public relationships.
When do we learn that Soto’s injury is sapping his power?
Stanton said he expects to miss about 4 weeks. So double it and add a month of suckage. He got a PRP injection today.
So Stanton, Rizzo and The Martian should all be ready about September the itstoolateth, but DJ and Gleyber feel fine.
And in spite of this the Yankees gain a game on the O’s who were swept in Houston.
