  1. “1-0 is already a loss against Joe Ryan.”
Probably, but they decided to play it safe and be absolutely sure.

    “Wells staying over 150.”
Patience, my friend, patience. He’ll get there.

    1. They really, really, REALLY need to send Doval to the minors. I mean, what are they even fucking doing here?

Have Yarbs take the #5 spot in the rotation, call up SOMEone for Doval (ERC? Who else is even eligible?), and then bring up Cruz as soon as possible.

  2. I’d leave Doval in. The game is lost; at least if you publicly humiliate him when he goes to the minors he’ll work on his stuff. ?

  3. Katie S Yankees have now allowed 29 unearned runs in their last 15 games.

That’s the most by a Yankee team in any 15-game span since 1935.

    1. Yeah, and the pitchers aren’t picking up their teammates after the errors.

    1. You say “two” like it’s some kind of record… well, actually, I’m surprised the record is only 5 all star hitters (the Big Red Machine that beat the Yanks in ’76).

  4. Volpe and Wells do so much to harm this team.

Volpe selfishly puts Caballero, the better shortstop, out of position, and to places where he doesn’t play as well. This makes Volpe responsible for unearned runs – both directly (by his own errors) and indirectly (by forcing Cabby etc out of position) – and also responsible for earned runs (unmade double plays that Cabby was making at shortstop.)
(Incidentally, Caballero has also said that this displacement harms his own offensive preparation and production, as he has to prepare to play a different position each day.)

Volpe and Wells are losers, figuratively and literally. Do Boone and Cashman not see it? Do they not see how demoralizing it is to the rest of the team to continue having these losers play every day?

  5. Boone was saying just look at these guys, of course they’ll hit like he was talking about Matsui, Jeter, Bernie, and Bernie.Sheffield slumping.

Is it on Rowan to make things less bad? That’s his job isn’t it?

  6. From Katie S —

Camilo Doval is the 1st pitcher in Yankees history to have back-to-back games (both as a reliever) with
    ▶️4+ runs allowed
    ▶️7 or fewer batters faced

  7. Someone should go to cashman play him that arrogant assholish video 3 years ago of him saying that when Volpe starts hitting we will all see that he was right not to send him to the minors and ask him
“When exactly is that going to happen?”

  8. Suzyn Waldman rips Volpe and the entire Yankees defense:

“You know, this is what everyone is talking about. This is why this team is getting booed right now, and why people say they’re not focused. That was their 20th error in their last 15 games.”

  9. I will not watch another game unless Cabby is the starting SS.

Volpe and Wells need to go down to work on their approach (and Volpe needs to go to 2b).

Jazz+Grish should go on the block and let Jones and and Cabrera take CF and 2B.

See what we got, get some pieces maybe build back some trade value.

The team is just messed up, white flag, fix these problems and hit the reset button.

  10. The real problem is the clock is ticking on judge’s prime and Cole’s too. Sad how they wasted it with an idiot manager. In a way worse than Mattingly because judge is/was a better player and they were good enough to have won with a better manager. Mattingly only could have won in1994 and he himself also voted for the strike. I guess he could have won in 1985 too now that I think about it.

    1. Maybe they can talk about this tomorrow in their weekly Bantering with Boone show.

Even as we all wish Boone would get fired before that.

  11. Boone “Doval the bottom line he’s got to be part of our solution”
Ah, so the solution is changing that annoying negative attitude towards abject failure!

  12. T Grisham (L) CF
    B Rice (L) DH
    P Goldschmidt (R) 1B
    C Bellinger (L) LF
    J Domínguez (S) RF
    J Chisholm Jr. (L) 2B
    J Caballero (R) SS
    R McMahon (L) 3B
    A Wells (L)

  13. Giancarlo Stanton (calf) remained in New York and has not resumed running since his recent setback, Aaron Boone said. “We’ve been listening to the body,” said Boone, who added that he does expect Stanton to return at some point this season.

One more year of this BS?

    1. Yes of course.

After seeing that Volpe video and wells video above you’re questioning Stanton? Ha.

  14. If Caballero had only fielded the shortstop position cleanly, and not put the ball into play with RISP, dayenu.

If Caballero had only put the ball into play with RISP, and not hit a three-run homer, dayenu.

If Caballero had only hit a three-run homer, and not pimped it with both a bat flip at the plate and an archery act-out at third base, dayenu.

    1. On all other nights we do not pimp our home runs even once. Why on this night do we pimp twice?
