I didn’t know it was an afternoon game, and since the Yankees were leading, I didn’t want to mess with things with a thread, but after the Yankee bullpen blew ANOTHER lead, I guess I might as well let us all share in the misery that will be the bottom of the 8th and the top of the 9th.
Weaver suffers an injury that normally takes you out of commission for a long period of time. He recovers very quickly, and then is terrible after returning. Dollars to donuts the moron is playing hurt, like a fucking dickhead.
I was just going to post that. But Boone is a moron. Hill 3 up 3 down so let’s replace him with a guy who has been terrible.
If they get swept again can we hope for a firing?
It’s just like how, when Holmes was terrible, Boone kept trotting him out there like he was good Holmes. He is just a complete moron.
Obviously, you pinch hit Grisham in this inning, but do you hit him for Volpe or for LeMahieu?
Wow, he did it for Volpe. I agree with the move, but it’s fascinating.
“Looking for some five o’clock lightning.”
No one knows your old ass Yankees reference, Kay!
Lordy, what a fucking play by McNeil. Jesus Christ.
What a 3-1 swing, Jasson.
This fucking team is insane right now.
This game was really a fascinating mixture of two slumping teams, each trying to out-choke the other, and the Yankees “won” it in the end.
While Weaver is probably just broken right now, and should go back on the IL, the rest of the guys, I am taking a LITTLE solace in the fact that, come on, these guys can’t all be THIS bad. It truly can’t be a case of them being terrible EVERY GAME. This has got to be some weird bad luck shit that will likely regress to the mean in the end.
A few short innings away from being in third place.
Old friend Harrison Bader keeps the Yankees in second place for one more day.
The last thread was more than enough. 😎
They didn’t deserve a new thread, but at the same time, i didn’t want to skip once it was clearly a loss.
Katie S Yankees have 14 losses when leading by multiple runs at any point in a game this season.
That’s the 2nd most in MLB, behind only the Diamondbacks (16).
Luke Weaver This Season
Last 10 Games: 6 HR, 42 batters faced
First 21 Games: 0 HR, 79 batters faced
Two out
At least they’re still in second place!
Yankees are a better team after 5 or 6 than 9 or more. Another Yankee first.
Katie S Yankees relievers have taken the loss in each of their last 5 games.
This is the first time in franchise history the Yankees had a 5-game span with 5 losses and the bullpen got the loss in each
