  1. I don’t think I’ve ever watched Schmidt pitch before. Has he always had that funny little double pump of the knees before he delivers? I do love a funky setup and delivery

  2. No Rocco, not how about JP Sears, more like how about how the Yankees hitters suck. DJ sucks. Martian still looks terrible against LHP. Gianni is not ready. Judge in slumping. Only Jazz looks good.

  3. Yankees one of only two teams without a win trailing by 3 or more in 7th. Yanks helped Cincy l end there’s. Stroman pitching tomorrow..All good news.

    1. So, we play tomorrow, we lose tomorrow. Getting used to losing, as they’ve been losing a lot. This may well be the longest worst stretch of offense by the Yankees since the collapse in the mid 1960s.

  4. Yesterday 3 runs, 1 legit, 4 hits, 3 legit. Today no runs, 2 hits and the Alan Winans experience has ended. The Marcus Stroman debacle returns tomorrow.

    1. He’s played a lot. I’d give the big fella tomorrow off. Stroman’s starting so they’re as much as conceding anyway.

  5. RIP Dave “The Cobra” Parker. A fave of mine from childhood, and while he missed getting inducted into the Hall of Fame, he lived long enough to know that he made it into the Hall of Fame, and, let’s be honest, that’s the much more significant thing.

    1. Most disappointing Yankee after a good summer last year and a great ST, I stupidly forgave him last Autumn
J.C. Escarra actually has a higher OPS 753 to 699.

  6. Jazz right now is the only hitter with a pulse. Judge last 15 games 182/308/382. Man when you slump, you don’t have to totally disappear. Then there’s DJ 652 who is an everyday player and in his last 15 games is 195/233/220-453! No bench. No minor league help. Cash really shined by extending Hixie and DJ, getting Gallo, Donaldson, IKF and Verdugo.

    1. Sinners was great, I was lucky enough to catch it in IMAX this spring. Killer.

  7. Pinstripe Alley: There is a scene at the end of the 2009 Star Trek film. James T. Kirk approaches Captain Pike and says, “I relieve you, sir,” to which Captain Pike replies, “I am relieved.”

I thought of that, for no particular reason, as the Yankee bats made JP Sears look like Peak Tom Glavine and the Athletics bullpen look like the 1990 Reds on Saturday in the Bronx.

    “We are the Yankee offense.”
    “You are offensive.”

However, whether he gave up one run or four was irrelevant. The offense was missing in action. Against a pitcher who has been a walking batting practice machine in 2025, and a team that entered the day with a bloated ERA, the Yankee bats were completely useless, falling to the A’s by a 7-0 final score.
