I mean, come the fuck on with this matchup AGAIN, right? But oh well, at least they won’t have to worry about the fact that Devin Williams and Mark Leiter won’t be available to pitch tonight (Lo could use a rest, too).
I also don’t get using both Rice and Dominguez, who can’t hit lefties, while sitting Grisham, who CAN hit lefties.
Fear the power of Friday the 13th in NY?
I saw this movie when it first came out. Why did they bother to remake it?
I hate games at Fenway. At least there’s no ESPN game this weekend.
Yeah, that was a very pleasant surprise.
Stanton not in the lineup in the minors. Does this mean he’ll be here tomorrow? They’re just giving him a day? He’s hurt?
The only question tonight is well this game be over early or will false hope linger in to the 7th or so?
Two pitches, two outs. Awesome, just awesome.
In case this goes to xtras, Crochet can go 11:at this rate.
On that note I think I’ll watch the 100k high roller.
Martian swinging 3-0 from the right side?
Well, damn.
It’s a shame Peraza is so effing terrible at hitting 165/553. Isn’t there a 220/240 hitter somewhere who can play a respectable middle infield?
Doubtful.
That said, he’s only playing due to Jazz’s short term injury. It’s hard to get too worked up about a temporary player starting a couple of games due to injury.
When they’re an absolute automatic out as opposed to being a marginal big leaguer, I do. Jazz has already been hurt twice. DJ is 50/50 to get hurt and he needs more days off than most.
And Peraza is only even in THIS position because Waldo is hurt.
Peraza’s at-bat was fine. He sucks, so you can’t expect much from him with Crochet going right at him to get the K. Wells being unable to make contact, though, was just pathetic.
Also, what the fuck kind of 3-1 swing was that, Goldy?!
Refsnyder OPSing over 900?
He hits only against lefties. But yes, it’s still impressive.
Some embarrassing fucking at-bats by Judge. Thank goodness he had a day off to avoid having a hot streak.
And hey, two innings from Lo have failed every other time, let’s try it again!
Crochet might have a complete fucking game.
Thank GOD Boone started the two guys who can’t hit lefties against one of the best lefties in the game. Just a genius move.
Hamilton is sadly the right call here.
Wells, are you fucking KIDDING me? At least make him throw fucking pitches!!!
Do they WANT Crochet to throw a complete game shutout?! Their approach is such dogshit.
A five pitch eighth inning. Are you kidding me with this shit?!
They’ve been doing that all game. Boone’s master plan.
Why are they burning Cruz?!
One run in 18 innings. Yeah I know Crochet’s terrific but good teams shouldn’t be this pathetic.
jidge
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Crochet dropped a stitch to Judge.
I didn’t know Chapman could still get it over 100
Ban replay.
You don’t make the first out at third. Even if you’re safe, you need to be safe easily.
Brutally bad.
Bad Volpe.
bam umpires
Judge’s home run was an advanced CT.
They don’t win in extras on the road very often.
This season phenom has 7 SBs and 5 CS.That doesn’t seem good.
Why even bother to play the tenth? Judge’s home run was just a petty annoyance. Yankees seldom win xtra inning games on the road.
The one time I think it actually made sense to walk Narvaez, and they pitch to him, while they walk him all the time otherwise.
I’m glad Jacob Wilson is running away with the Rookie of the Year, as Naevaez would be an annoying winner.
Honestly, once Toronto lost, I didn’t even really care much about this one. They had a huge pitching advantage, and took ten innings to win it. I can easily live with that.
Volpe was still very, very stupid, though.
Oh, and no Grisham was also dumb. Watch Martian now sit against the righties.
Also there was a right handed batter up when phenom got thrown out giving Narvaez a clear lane to throw. How great that last week Narvaez beat us with a home run, this week he throws phenom out at third and gets the game winning hit.
Yeah, it was such a terrible, terrible idea by Volpe. Remember that stretch in, like, 2021 or 2022 when they keep getting into insane problems running the bases in extras? Like back to back innings of getting picked off or some shit.
I missed the whole picture, Brian’s song: Narvaez throws out phenom, Narvaez with the winning hit, Whitlock with the win. How’s Brooks Kriske doing Cash? Fucking Elmer Cruz better be good. Cashman gives the townies their starting catcher and their second best reliever. One of the 5 best GMs in the game! Right?
Why did Boone start Jasson against a tough lefty, again?
And you KNOW he’s going to sit against one of the righties this weekend. It’s just absolutely IDIOTIC.
Because the theory is he needs to get as many reps right handed as possible. I suppose that’s ok for a while but at some point you need to put out your best lineup every day. And if that means sitting Jasson against LHP, especially with Stanton back, sobeit. At some point they really have to figure out if switch hitting is in his own interest. Cedric Mullins got better when he stopped switch hitting.
“Because the theory is he needs to get as many reps right handed as possible.”
I actually am not even necessarily against that, except for
A. Then Rice has to sit, and Judge or Dominguez DHs, and
B. He shouldn’t start tonight and then sit one of the next two games
Katie S Yankees are 12-26 (.316) in road games of 10+ innings since 2020.
That’s the worst win pct in MLB over that span.
What sucks is that the Yankees’ strong bullpen used to make them GOOD at extra innings games either way.
So cool to see Judge do that in that spot. And for Judge to see it.
So dumb by Volpe, but how was that replay definitive enough to overturn? This game could so easily have been a radically different narrative.
