With rusty ass Carlos Rodon, I don’t like their chances, but boy, a fucking win tonight sure would be nice.
Nobody better to guarantee a series split than Carlos Rodon.
Vlad in a slump (.159/.247/.203 over his last 81 plate appearances), so Rodon walks him.
That didn’t take long.
In 2022 Rodon’s fastball averaged 95.5. If it’s 93 now, that’s a problem.
I don’t think that’s a concern. I think this is normal ramping up, just delayed because of the injury.
So much hate dor Rodón after only 2 starts. This guy was fire last year! Maybe he needa a couple starts to get going.
I hated him last season when he was an All Star, so you better believe I hate him now. 😉
The guy is the perfect example of a guy with all of the talent in the world, and just is too dumb to use it. He has SUCH good stuff.
And when his career was dependent on him putting it together, he did it twice, and then once he was paid, he stopped
giving a shitfocusing.I don’t believe he doesn’t give a shit.
Ha! No lie, I regretted saying that as soon I put it there. You’re absolutely right, that was a poor choice of words, my apologies. Rodon obviously CARES, he’s just too dumb to focus. He forced himself to focus in 2021 and 2022 when his career was on the line, and he’s occasionally done it in the playoffs, but that’s it.
Seventh consecutive strikeout for Judge. Mark Reynolds and others nine for the record.
Judge is so lost. The robo-strike challenge seems to have been a hindrance to him when folks thought he would be among the biggest beneficiaries.
Maybe he’s thinking too much
Doesn’t seem fair to bring in a lefty for Spence.
Yankees are 8th in the MLB, 5th in the AL, in strikeouts, Angels are first. The Rays and Jays have the least
Pitching around Vlad with 2 out and no one on.
And Vlad coming in has been colder than Judge (.159/.247/.203 over his last 81 plate appearances).
Casey had the same problem. Yogi or Howard or even Johnny Blanchard career OPS+ 108.. Now Boone has to choose JC or Wells.
Toronto has 3 middle relievers who are all as good as Yesavage
I’ve been told JC Escarra is a top 15 catcher in MLB.
What is this fantasy that JC is anything but one of the rise hitter in baseball at 157/455 and a 32 OPS+ going into this game. Last year he was OPS+ 74.
The fact that they’re bringing back Cruz tells me he’ll go down and Blackburn and Yarbrough will stay.
Rodon lasted five.
That was not a HBP.
Aaron Judge says we are all Abyss.
Jazz could not POSSIBLY have looked worse on that at bat.
I mean, damn.
Mr 50/50 says “I am Abyss.”
Paul is surprised that in a bull pen game the Yankees could do so little. Anyone else?
Jazz is still lost. Wells is ridiculous. Escarra isn’t to be seriously discussed. McMahon might be barely okay. Goldschmidt could be a really good back-up.
Really if they’d gotten one more genuinely good hitter…
…Brian’s right, Judge has to be hitting.
Which means they’re just letting Judge make up the slack for the rest of the order, instead of building a lineup that’s not Judge dependent, meaning Judge makes it massive better.
Good challenge JC. At least you can compensate with your bar.
WOE.
How could you throw 100 and suck so much.
Gotta get him going.
Pull Headrick after 12 pitches? Did I see that right?
Cashman got Doval for a reason. Boone believes in him.
Is a 5.79 era bad for a reliever? Does it usually earn you a spot in the Circle Of Trust or The Bullpen Abyss?
As soon as Kay mentioned his ground ball rate I envisioned this.
