  1. So I haven’t been following closely… Grisham is doing pretty well, huh?

Volpe pretty clearly is what he is – a light hitting good defensive SS. Ideally he’s your Scott Brocious, hitting 9th.

    1. Grisham may be falling back to earth. Last 14 days 220/748, last 7 167/485

  2. The more I think about it, the more irked I am that their second hottest hitter didn’t start last night, and then never even pinch hit in a game they lost by a single run. It’s just outrageously stupid.

    1. I don’t mind that he didn’t start, but not using him later was insane.

  3. DJ’s going to have a 385 OPS and they’re going to play him forever.
The best thing he could do for this team is get hurt.

    1. The problem is DJ, Volpe and Wells are what they are and they have value, DJ doesn’t. Less valuable than Cabrera, Peraza, or even Reyes

  4. I’d be pleased with my reverse jinx if I didn’t know it meant another 20 years of DJ’s dismembered, liquified and cremated corpse.

  5. I’ve never been particularly dogmatic about Michael Kay one way or the other, but I have to say I’m enjoying the games without him.

  6. Bellinger, after that misssssssssserable start, is over 800.
Dominguez was almost at 800 a couple of days ago.
Grisham and Goldschidt are still knocking at the door of 900.

    1. SI The more exciting news is that his return may come sooner than anticipated, even for the Yankees. Chisholm gave the timeline of roughly two weeks before he could be back on the field playing with his teammates. And he hopes to do that by avoiding a rehab assignment in the minor leagues.
“I don’t like to do rehab assignments. I’ve never really been a fan of it,” Chisholm said.

  7. One feels at this point that carrying DJ, Reyes, Peraza, AND Vivas is borderline insanity. One will go when Jazz comes back but that still leaves you with three utility players.
