    1. He clearly was going out of his way to NOT use him, but he felt he had to. But yes, it’s stupid. Just fucking use him. It was a one-run game. Just use him.

    1. I think he’s fine as a lower leverage guy. Boone just uses him in the worst spots. How in the world was the 10th inning with a one-run lead not a “special” enough time to use Hill, but the tenth inning with the score tied WAS?

    2. He is only passable with a big lead or when trailing by 5. He is a waste of a roster spot.

    3. I think he’s fine using him with a lead or a tie (or even down one) game in the 6th inning. He’s good coming in with men on and an out or two to get the strikeout.

But the 10th inning with a one-run lead and Tim Hill nominally available? Never.

    4. Yes, if Hill was really off limits (until desperation time), then Cruz should have been the call in the 8th.

Hill SHOULDN’T have been off limits, of course.

  1. Judge thrown out at third. Hill didn’t know how many out or just panicked. And then Aaron Boone Milwaukee MVP. I would’ve used Cruz over Doval. I would 100% used Bednar in the 10th after only 12 pitches in the 9th.Boone has let him throw 40 pitches. But if for some reason I didn’t use Bednar, I would’ve gone Hill.

  2. If I didn’t think Boone wasn’t in the “moderate mental disability” of the IQ range I would think he was actively betting against his team to win. More evidence for why they can never, ever win a championship with this “manager”. He needs to wear a shirt with Michael Scott’s book title on it: “Somehow, I Manage”.

  3. This fucking idiot actually DID have Hill available, and he was just incredibly stupid about how he used him.

Holy SHIT is that insane. I tried to give the guy SOME leeway, and it turns out that he’s just THAT stupid.

  4. Aaron Boone says Gerrit Cole will make his fifth rehab start with Double-A Somerset tomorrow. Boone says he expects at least two more rehab outings for Cole, potentially three.
