They lost this game when Bednar wasn’t allowed to come out and try to get through the 10th on another 12 pitches.
And Hill pitched fucking WELL, too! Had they just used him when they SHOULD have, the game would have been a win.

I think he’s fine as a lower leverage guy. Boone just uses him in the worst spots. How in the world was the 10th inning with a one-run lead not a “special” enough time to use Hill, but the tenth inning with the score tied WAS?
He is only passable with a big lead or when trailing by 5. He is a waste of a roster spot.
I think he’s fine using him with a lead or a tie (or even down one) game in the 6th inning. He’s good coming in with men on and an out or two to get the strikeout.
But the 10th inning with a one-run lead and Tim Hill nominally available? Never.
