  1. If they’re considering keeping Volpe down for another 3 weeks in order to delay his free agency for a year, as Bop noted on the other thread, then I hope they’re only doing it to boost his trade value, and not because they’re planning on playing him. Since they have Caballero now and Lombard a year or two away, they may be best off delaying Volpe’s free agency indefinitely, and that’s just not smart roster construction, nor is it fair to the player.

  2. And yeah, Dominguez’s CT happened. Reportedly negative.
The Yankees’ CT is scheduled for the 9th inning and also expected to be negative.

  3. Katie S Ben Rice now ranks 2nd in Slugging Pct (.867) and 2nd in OPS (1.308) against left-handed pitchers among all qualified batters this season.

The only player with a better SLG and OPS vs LHP is switch-hitter Ildemaro Vargas (.903 SLG, 1.355 OPS)

    That’s kind of unbelievable.
    Will Warren (2.39 ERA)
    Max Fried (2.09 ERA)
    Cam Schlittler (1.51)

They’re the first trio of Yankee pitchers with at least 7 starts and a sub-2.40 ERA at this point in the season (thru 32 team games)

  4. Yay win! Yay Warren! Yay Rice!

It’s nice to see a team play baseball well.
There will be plenty to complain about when Volpe returns.
