This might be tricky, as Yarbrough is the only Yankees long man right now. I guess they’ll need two from Ian Hamilton or Tim Hill? That’s assuming Yarbrough can even give them four, which is not a given. Hopefully Schmidt really is only slightly hurt, and WILL be able to pitch on Tuesday.
Belli leading off is an unusual choice.
Oh, okay, Schmidt actually got a clean MRI. So that’s a whole different situation. I guess it actually IS minor, and he’ll start Tuesday.
Hoch Clarke Schmidt told reporters he is dealing with left flank soreness; he told the Yankees he could start today, but they have decided to push him back to Tuesday.
In a not too distant past “ Yankees’ Jazz Chisholm Jr. unconcerned with ‘right flank’ injury, talks human and bovine anatomy”
Apparently after the rest of the bullpen got to take last night’s game off, they figured it made sense to make today’s game a bullpen game. I like the sound of that. That sounds like this actually IS minor.
Leadoff walk?!
And that’s why you don’t bat Belli leadoff
a better lineup would be Rice leading off and Belli in the Atlantic League
Ho hum.
Funny to see this on the scoreboard
Bellinger 194
Judge 434
Rice 265
Like looking at the temperatures in in the South Pole, the Equator, and New York..
Constantly walking the leadoff hitter seems like a terrible strategy.
Whatever, can’t be too upset.
Some people say the world will end from fire
Others say from Rice
for baseball destruction Rice
Is also great
And would suffice.
Well done
team effort, bop
Volpe is really smooth on D
Pretty good job by Yarbrough
Lot of empty seats for a nice day in the Bronx
I take it back, it’s just the seats behind home
Yarborough is better than Cookie, probably Warren also.
Maybe they really should start him over Carrasco
Dandy Yiaz
OK Wells can stay on the team
The delayed steal never works for the Yankees, but works so often against them.
yikes
The Yankees have not done to much the last 2 games against the Ray’s so so starters.
seems maybe like a nerve thing rather than structural, thank goodness
Leiter is da man
Nobody has smaller hands than Volpe, not even the rain.
Leiter strikes again.
Why not Leiter for the 6th and Cruz or Cruz/Hill for 7/8? Or Leiter for the 5th? Or the bench.
he’s pinch hitting with…Pablo Reyes
“welcome to the bigs, kid, now the worst hitter in baseball is coming in for you”
Reyes over Peraza?
Not gonna just walk Judge and leave the lefty for Rice?
Wow, 5-runs in 16-innings against the Rays. I expect it will be the same after 17-innings.
Easy prediction.
Yep, mowed down. Pathetic performance.
I hate it when their manager makes a bad decision and gets away with it.
When Boone does his defensive switch in 1 run games Reyes is the pinch hitter
Did Boone even ATTEMPT to explain why no Williams today?
Leiter obviously had some awful luck, but why even go with him over Williams?
My guess he didn’t want to do 4/5 days. Nevertheless use Cruz in 7/8.

Lombard 3/5 2 doubles, up to 329/983, Pereira home run #6 in 19 games.
Spencer Jones, 3 K’s. Repeating AA, K-rate 36.3%
He’s very unlikely to ever make it but what matters is can he hit enough home runs and have a high enough OBP to be useful. Hes always going to strike out a lot. He leads the Eastern League in home runs with 50% more home runs than the next best and he’s 6th in OPS.
Good news : last 5 games out scoring opponents by 12 runs
Bad news: only won 2 of the 5
Hoping to win this series with the JV
T Grisham (L) CF
A Judge (R) DH
C Bellinger (L) RF
P Goldschmidt (R) 1B
J Domínguez (S) LF
J Escarra (L) C
P Reyes (R) 2B
O Cabrera (S) 3B
O Peraza (R) SS
A chance for Peraza to show his quality
Why is Pablo Reyes
that is the question
Game delayed rain
2:05 start now.
Sovereignty at 9-1 was a gift. Shame he paid closer to 8-1 after the CAWs did their filthy business
Yep, he was bet heavier in the double pools. I had a win and an exacta but would’ve done better if Baeza got place. I made a win bet on Sovereignty and double keyed Sovereignty and Neoequos in exactas with Baeza and Journalism. This guy Cartouche who posts on my old job site picked the 123 in order.
