    1. Sure they’re just bringing Phenom closer to home, but I wouldn’t mind if his next stop were Staten Island instead of the Bronx.

  1. This series has been a perfect example of why the underlying stats are important, as Grisham has been smoking the ball these last two games, and has little to show for it, but you can’t knock the guy for what he’s done.

    1. I mean, it should have been two outs, no one on for Janson, ya know? Who knows what happens there. So I can’t get on Bednar TOO much.

Cruz was more annoying, but then he looked great on his last two batters.

  2. Would be nice if Lombard’s promotion meant he was actually ahead of Volpe on the depth chart. Wishful thinking, as I don’t think we’ll see him in the Bronx this year. Except possibly if McMahieu continues to fail and Rosario unfortunately gets hurt. And even then they’d probably just move Caballero over.

    1. phenom put up big numbers until he got to AAA. He was ranked as high as #5 pre 2023.

  3. It’s really nice to see a pitchers’ duel turn out as advertised. And nice that the Yankees came out on top.
To out-pitch a returned-to-form DeGrom is quite an achievement.

  4. Watched the condensed.
Just a great game, defense and pitching and dramatic hitting and a (needlessly, but still) close ending.
    Fun!
And man, was there any thought to giving Cam another inning?
