Good news from the injury scares last night. From Randy Miller:
Torres pulled himself out of the game because he didn’t want to have try to turn a double play with a sore hand, not because the pain was getting worse or his hand was swelling.
“That situation … I didn’t want to mess around,” Torres said. “So I tried to make the best decision for the team.”
After leaving the game, Torres headed to the ballpark X-rays room.
“I was worried,” Torres said.
A few minutes later, there was relief. There was no sign of a fracture.
After the game, Soto added to the good news by completely playing down his ankle issue.
When asked if he was feeling anything, Soto responded with one word:
“Nope.”
I doubt Torres starts tonight, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t start Sunday either, but at least he won’t hit the IL. Having Berti and a hot Cabrera is comforting at the moment.
I’ll be happier when Torres (and Stanton) are gone… next year
Yeah Jahmai Jones deserves his shot at 2B.

Kirschner “Oswaldo Cabrera made it a point to watch Juan Soto, who he calls the team’s “Latin Leader,” as often as he could in the cage. He’d take mental notes — “what made him so great?” It inspired a change in himself. So far, it’s worked.”
What, was “El Duque” taken?
I look forward to yamamoto getting lit up
Less good news. DJLM has a fractured foot, no update for another 2 weeks: https://twitter.com/BryanHoch/status/1774179381805478326
It’s kind of crazy how much we were all assuming it was broken despite them saying it wasn’t broken.
100%
They did Xray him initially. I guess the swelling must have hidden the break, since it wasn’t displaced.
Shades of Tex, who they watched hobble around for three weeks calling it a bruise, then, Oh! looks like a fracture.
Crackhead medical staff.
Gleyber leading off.
• Beeter optioned to AAA
• Tanner Tully signed to a ML contract and put on the active roster
• Nick Ramirez DFA
Well, there’s nothing special about a 2-2 start to the season, not when you have to go and face the mighty Arizona Diamondbacks right after that.
