Musn’t break up that R/L in the middle, no sir. The Yankees haven’t seen Bibee this season, and we all know that they excel against really good pitchers when they see them for the first time, right? Right? Somebody please say right.
Well, they can’t do worse with RISP than they did yesterday!
Cue 0-15 RISP
You think they’re going to have RISP?
How else will they score on a WP/PB?
If I am reading this right, the Yanks are 6 for 41 with RISP in the playoffs. Yet have won 4 of 5 games. That’s bizarre.
The chokiest chokers continue choking and yet here we are.
Part of it is that they’re getting a ton of baserunners. They have 34 walks in 5 games! But they haven’t really been hitting that well. 0/15 RISP is argually better cause if you’re getting that many runners you have more chances for a sac fly or scoring on a BB or WP or such thing.
What happens when the opposing pitcher throws strikes?
To be fair, one of the things that teams try to do against the Yankees is to AVOID throwing strikes. Not WALKING guys, of course, but trying to get the Yankees to expand the zone.
Well, here we go. Judge’s debut party.
I don’t get this “Batting Manzardo second” shit.
Maybe just give him garbage for the next three pitches, Cole, see if he swings. You can walk him if need be.
Well, thank goodness for the wind, I guess!
Give him the QO!
I can’t believe the Yankees have TWO different sponsorship logos on their uniforms and helmets.
A different Yankee hitter, that’s probably a strike.
We’re going to miss Gleyber when our 2B is hitting 195/480 next year.
How did Gleyber not score on that shit?!
This seems familiar
Finally get a hit with RISP. Don’t score.
Hey, that WAS a hit with a RISP.
How about that?
How will they blow this? Stay tuned!
Thank goodness for the wind!
Squirrel Girl 1, Baseball 0
Yay, error! Yesterday, WP’s, today E-Day.
If it weren’t for good luck we’d have no runs at all and Judge might be playing golf.
Welp, we’ll take it!
Wells is fucking LOST out there. Why is he still batting cleanup?
He’s just EMBARRASSING out there. Why is he batting cleanup?!!?
New innovative ways to score without hits
Wells, swinging through pitches in the zone. Ungood, but keep hitting him fourth. The definition of insanity is CashBoone keeping Wells at cleanup.
I love Soto, and he’s an amazing amazing hitter, but he doesn’t always seem to be the sharpest knife in the drawer.
How can Wells be THIS bad?
There are slumps, and there’s this. It’s insane. I mean, it’s beyond ridiculous.
Boone “likes where the lineup sits and the flow,” what a stupid crock of shit even from our dumb manager.
Yeah, I thought that was painful to hear, as well.
Wells is cooked. I can’t believe I’m asking for trevino
FANTASTIC CAMERA WORK, DUDES!
Wow, what a catch by Brennan!
More RISP Fail. Need more Whatevers errors.
Really nice play
How can they be this bad offensively?!
Can we get some Jazz?
“I’ve never seen anything that long.” Condolences to Ron Darling’s missus.
Well, no Jazz for the Yankees. An amazing consistency of RISP ineptness, however.
Incredible. How did they ever GET here with this offense?
Wells 095/269 for the post season after 111/421 in September? Can Trevino even play? Is Boone managing with a hand tied behind is back?
Always has been
And the other one, and three feet. And his head, which is not just behind his back, but, more specifically…
With Judge popping up, and Wells being an automatic out, I assumed no runs at that moment the ball popped up, so I’ll take the run.
Jazz 100/393 for the playoffs. Waldo? Berti? Trevi? Can any of those guys be this bad?
It really was SUCH a painful turn of phrase by Boone.
Boone is on a roll with extra painful sayings. Last night’s Rizzo remark, now this. He’s in playoff form.
Honestly, at this point, with Boone being Boone, maybe bat Rizzo cleanup and Wells 8th?
I liked Rizzo’s swings in Game 1.
Wells plays, he has to be dropped several spots. Of course, this should have happened prior to the post season, as Wells has been awful since September 1. No other team would have kept him in the cleanup spot.
I’d bat Stanton 4th, Wells 8 or 9, than pray for walks and errors.
You definitely want Stanton to swing the bat after Soto and Judge.
Yankees now hitting 133 RISP for the playoffs.
Can Rizzo put one over the wall?
Can’t teach speed!
The worst possible situation, 1st and 3rd, no outs.
strikeout, strikeout, walk, groundout. Maybe strikeout, walk, GIDP if they’re feeling fancy.
Uh oh, Rizzo foolishly put the runner into scoring position.
Verdugo with an oppo double. Wow.
I never doubted starting Verdugo!!
Wow. Incredible.
Boston Verdugo. An oppo hit is what he did in game 1.
Ugh, Gleyber.
Even the guys who have been getting hits can’t get hits. So annoying.
I’d walk Soto for the DP.Got to, Judge hits into a lot of DPs.
You gotta. It’s crazy, but you gotta.
Verdu… what… was… that?
Come on Judge, don’t stand for this.
Wow. Judge had got to make them pay
Challenge to Judge.
