Volpe has finally leapfrogged the shitty Verdugo in the Yankee lineup. Thank goodness for Verdugo’s decent left field defense, as otherwise, he’d be one of my most disliked recent Yankees.
Anyhow, another tough pitching matchup, but perhaps Rodon will show more today than he did in Game 2 (which he wasn’t BAD in, of course, but nor did he look particularly great, either).
Yankee have Soto long fly out. Yankee have nots Gleyber and Judge weak strike outs.
Outside of Ketel ambushing him, Rodon looked good.

Lost DH and an injury to the guy who knocked the ball out of Rizzo’s glove.
They pinch-hit Jace Peterson in the 9th. Then they pinch-hit Joc Pederson in the 10th for the catcher (in the #8 spot), so Moreno had to come in to catch in the 11th. Then Perdomo (the #9 hitter) got hurt after Pederson made an out. Jake McCarthy pinch-ran for the hurt Perdomo. McCarthy was their last position player left on the bench, but he can’t play shortstop. So Marte had to move from DH to shortstop, losing the DH for the Diamondbacks. The pitcher then took the #9 spot from McCarthy.
