The Yankees and White Sox are almost complete mirrors of each other, record-wise, so this SHOULD be a good series for the Yankees, coming off an impressive three-game sweep of the Twins (and taking two out of three against the Rays), but I dunno, a combo of Nestor Cortes starting Game 1, and the Yankees perhaps being TOO over-confident (and the White Sox being better as of late, as guys have gotten healthy, and/or replaced by better hitters), and I wonder if this is an ultimate Trap Game…
bwehehehe
unmasked!
trade for kopech
I think they’re handling it a bit differently than the past, though. For him to return by the road trip, he would have had played basically a week’s worth of rehab games. That’s a lot of rehab games. I think they’re explicitly trying to make sure he is ACTUALLY healthy before they let him return, for the very reason you would be rightfully concerned about him returning not fully healed.
But he’s not going to play every day at first. The thing is no need now so let him take his time.
Nestorday… all my troubles seemed so far away…
vintage cortes
fuck you benintendi
bah
huzzah. lucky teal 🩵
I’m telling you Soto needs to get off the schneid
Mendick
by God he’s done it. ujd has transcended beyond mere comprehendible utterance
[beams of pure energy streaming from my mouth and eyes]
heh
Careful with that power, especially when in front of mirrors.
Stanton abs are hilarious
Never heard of half of today’s White Sox lineup. Suffice it to say I should not have searched “Mendick third base” without my VPN and Safesearch.
Okay, maybe I’m trying too hard to recreate the magic of that old Nick Johnson “Ramses” thread…
Stanton + warren for kopech + vaughn
Soto to judge – my UZR!
Judge 972 Soto 915
this upsets me
Judge in May
.408/.517/.979
boo, Soto
Soto last 7 days 120/179/160
Yankees really ought to do more off Clevinger. A Trap indeed
I’d say the same thing about the Sox (or any team) and cortes
What even is a Julks
it’s kind of like the jibblies.
rally time
woo
Now that is what I am talking about
Jesus Christ gleyber
That was very crazy. In a very bad way.
Torres, in failing to push his OPS up to 615, is also failing to impress me
Runner on second, no outs, no runs. Blech.
I’m secretly rooting for the Sox / against cortes. behehehe
sox not interested in winning, playing for draft picks eh
BattleCort
If I were casting a movie and was looking for an actor to play a tweaker I’d seriously consider Clevenger.
Yeah he’s got that dirtbag in him
he is, indeed, spazzy
Soto lives!
I think if the Yanks score at least 1 more here I keep going with Cortes
I’m having a Stantonian blast
all according to the July 31st timeline…
Give Cortes the eighth, why not
I wouldn’t be surprised if arraez is available at the deadline
Juan Soto needs to locate a dawg and put it in him
this also upsets me
Because he doesn’t have that dawg in him you see
There’s no dawg
documentaries suck
Might do a film about dawgs
grr
hmm, Hamilton game eh.
oh dear
Get Holmes up
See Cortes could have done that
Worst loss of the season incoming.
uh
Ferguson eh. hmm
tiddly dee, it seems to have worked
Oh FFS Holmes hasn’t pitched in a week, let him get 5 outs
He did pitch an inning on Tuesday. So yeah, he’s rested, bring him in to try and clean up Hamilton’s mess.
I prefer Holmes here
Did anyone in the world think Hamilton should have faced Sheets?! They bring in a lefty, your guy gave up two hard hit balls, what are you doing, Boone?
e tu, Brian?
It worked out, but definitely one batter too long for Hamilton, who I think might be feeling the effects of pitching a LOT early on.
lol, ph dp
stop nibbling holmes
lol, ump took it up on himself
You really shouldn’t walk anybody there.
That’s better.
OK then
Stanton says he gets himself into a position to get an RBI. How does he manage to do that?
If you swing hard enough, you’re always in scoring position.
– Fritz Peterson
hmmm, Guerrero Jr at 1b?
Judge 1458 last 19 games.
If the playoffs were held today Baltimore would be the 4 seed with a 667 winning% and Seattle would be the 3 seed with a 533%. That makes sense. And this is how I envision the Yankees getting getting eliminated as a wild card.
by sucking?
Astros are so winning the AL West, right?
In game 163. Because the Yankees failed to complete the sweep last week.
anybody know who was doing color in the radio booth today? No John, no Suzyn for the first time I can remember.
