    1. I hated him last season when he was an All Star, so you better believe I hate him now. 😉

The guy is the perfect example of a guy with all of the talent in the world, and just is too dumb to use it. He has SUCH good stuff.

And when his career was dependent on him putting it together, he did it twice, and then once he was paid, he stopped giving a shit focusing.

    2. Ha! No lie, I regretted saying that as soon I put it there. You’re absolutely right, that was a poor choice of words, my apologies. Rodon obviously CARES, he’s just too dumb to focus. He forced himself to focus in 2021 and 2022 when his career was on the line, and he’s occasionally done it in the playoffs, but that’s it.

  1. Judge is so lost. The robo-strike challenge seems to have been a hindrance to him when folks thought he would be among the biggest beneficiaries.

    1. And Vlad coming in has been colder than Judge (.159/.247/.203 over his last 81 plate appearances).

  2. What is this fantasy that JC is anything but one of the rise hitter in baseball at 157/455 and a 32 OPS+ going into this game. Last year he was OPS+ 74.

  3. Jazz is still lost. Wells is ridiculous. Escarra isn’t to be seriously discussed. McMahon might be barely okay. Goldschmidt could be a really good back-up.
Really if they’d gotten one more genuinely good hitter…
…Brian’s right, Judge has to be hitting.
Which means they’re just letting Judge make up the slack for the rest of the order, instead of building a lineup that’s not Judge dependent, meaning Judge makes it massive better.

  4. Wasn’t that long ago, 2/3 weeks, that the Yankees offense also looked so pathetic. When you have a lot of guys who suck this happens.

  5. Agree with everyone. This is what happens when Judge doesn’t compensate for everyone else. Rice is good but not enough to carry a whole team the way Judge did for part of 2023.

This lineup needs Caballero back. And the 1998 squad. And Wade Boggs. And Yogi, or Bill Dickey, or both. And Joe D.

  6. Boone “Bullpen games can be challenging. Gotta get it go offensively.” Doval at the end of the day it’s a solo shot.” Hey Aaron late in a one run game a solo shot is very bad.

  7. Katie S Yankees now have 4 games this season with 3 or fewer hits and 0 runs scored.

That’s 2nd most in MLB, behind only the Giants (5).

That’s one shy of last year’s total. Yankee record is 9.
