This is one hell of a pitching matchup.
A run
Jazz hit it well, but nothing to show for it.
Well, Cam, there’s all the run support you’re going to get against DeGrom.
Some pretty, pretty good outfield defense both teams.
Lombard and phenom (demoted to AA) each 0-2, Jones 2-3 with a home run. Yerry rocked.
Sure they’re just bringing Phenom closer to home, but I wouldn’t mind if his next stop were Staten Island instead of the Bronx.
Cx 0-3
Volpe is a career OPS 662, OPS+ 83 in 1886 PA. That is who he probably is, unless he starts using PED’s. No one misses him.
OPS by year 666-657-663. Now that’s consistency.
It’s a matter of if David.
Nice to see a hyped up game live up to its hype.
Pitching around the 429 hitter.
Four pitch walk. Three pitch strikeout. It all evens out.
A strike
Cam does not panic.
There was a young man from Austin
What a fucking great pitch by Headrick there.
This series has been a perfect example of why the underlying stats are important, as Grisham has been smoking the ball these last two games, and has little to show for it, but you can’t knock the guy for what he’s done.
This bullpen is trying to fuck Schlittler so hard. Ugh.
Cruz did not get one pitch anywhere close to a strike after he got to two strikes on Seager.
I legit don’t even hate Cruz, but I don’t get the idea of using him as the 8th inning guy.
I think the idea is they don’t have a good eighth inning guy
For now, I’d just trust Hill.
And yes, Hill should NOT be the 8th inning guy, either, but he’s the best choice they have.
Need an 8th inning guy. Cruz has a WHIP of 1.67 this season. I do not trust him.
Wow what a crazy play
INSANE play. But a cool one.
I don’t think there’s another current pitcher in baseball who has a wider shift in their performance based on whether they are focused or not than Cruz.
Smart timeout by the Rangers batter to try to fuck with Cruz’s concentration.
Wow what a crazy inning.
I swear, if Judge ends up hitting 63 home runs this year…
I believe there is at least a 10% chance he has yet to have his best year.
Ninth inning error, not good, McMahon.
Isn’t it funny how the narrative can be formed by, like, ONE stat?
Murakami had that one awful stat against 95+ MPH pitches, and suddenly EVERY TEAM was out on the guy.
Why does his infield hate Bednar so much!?
Now the tieing run is up. Just stop making errors in the ninth inning, guys.
Janson would be a Hall of Famer if he just played against the Yankees in the 9th inning.
Shit, Grisham is now hurt. Fuck.
Phew, looks like he just got the wind knocked out of him.
You’re 174/539, you better make the play and not an error. You are dispensible.
Yep, it was very annoying.
History doesn’t repeat, but it rhymes. With “Wetteland.”
Just thinking that
Now a HBP.
These fucking two-strike fuckups kill me.
You can’t blame McMahon for that.
When Bednar starts with a ball, you know he’s lost.
Bednar just needed it to be close to feel alive.
The Wetlands are in danger but they held another day against the challenges of climate change.
Games like this suck so bad. Another year of the bullpen almost blowing every single game?
I mean, it should have been two outs, no one on for Janson, ya know? Who knows what happens there. So I can’t get on Bednar TOO much.
Cruz was more annoying, but then he looked great on his last two batters.
Yay win, eventually.
They tried to take the win from Schlittler, but they didn’t succeed.
Lombard to AAA. Spencer Jones, 2 HR.
