  1. I just can’t get over these weak-minded dudes who KNOW what they have to do, and just can’t do it.

The other team hits you? Then the other team hits you. Shit like that you can’t control TOO much. But what you CAN control is not throwing four straight balls when up 0-2 in the count. Just pathetic shit.

  2. How in the world do you walk JAZZ CHISHOLM, of all players, on four pitches? One, he’ll swing at almost anything if it looks even CLOSE to a strike, and two, you KNOW he’ll be running if he gets on.

    1. I know he SHOULD be running, but I wish I were more certain that he actually will be.

  3. What I mean is: if he HAD stolen both 2nd and then 3rd, that would have been 10 percent of his base stealing for the entire season thus far.

    1. I hate that they can look at the instant replay to decide if they want to challenge. This shit should be bang bang, and only called by the fielder at the base or the runner at the base.

  4. I’d have let Gil try to get out of it, but I get the argument.

However, if you’re GOING to go to the bullpen, shouldn’t it have been your best guy, like Weaver, to get out of the mini-jam? A hit means a run, so they should be using the guy who is most likely NOT to give up a hit, which is Weaver. Then Leiter can pitch the NEXT inning, with presumably a three-run lead and when a hit WON’T mean a run.

  5. First two hitters reach on walks against a pitcher with a 9.64 era, after a strike out by your 2 hitter a wild throw puts men on second and third, Judge and Cody pop out. Just let them hang around. 3-14 RISP

  6. I said this the other day- Yankees pitchers are hitting a lot of batters especially in 2 strike counts. I have a feeling that any team that makes Doval throw strikes will kill him.

    1. Bird is a long term play, not a this season play. I agree that Doval looks terrified out there, which is why you use him in lower leverage innings, then pull him when he looks like he’s in trouble.

Doval clearly still has very good stuff. He’s just a nutjob. He’s still an improvement over Ian Hamilton.

    2. I agree, that was an idiotic use of him. I wanted them to only use him in very low leverage situations while letting Blake work with him, and instead, they threw him out there as soon as he arrived. And then used him in a tie game in the tenth. Just madness.

    1. Weaver almost brained Goldy with that crazy error, and put the tying run on second base, while he was 1-2 on the batter with two outs.
