This is just some sadistic lambs to the lions bullshit right here.
Well, I guess we just have to hope Eury Perez and the Marlins bullpen doesn’t choke, so at least they stay ahead of Cleveland for one more day. Giancarlo Stanton and Byron Buxton both playing the outfield with wet grass. What could possibly go wrong?!
Bad News. Tarp coming off.

Fuck you so hard, Eury Perez.
Come on, Miami, you can’t blow a seven fucking run lead.
Also, why the fuck can’t the Astros hit Walker fucking Buehler?!
No HR’s, thus no runs.
A quick 0-4 and welcome back to the lineup Austin Wells
Maybe the Yankees should splurge and hire a hitting coach, most teams have one.
The Astros barely hung on. Phew.
Very nicely done, Belli! I really wouldn’t mind if he was here longterm.
Leadoff walk after getting a lead, sounds about right.
Schlittler fooled us the first three innings, but now he’s back to the standard Yankee starting pitcher approach.
Watching the veterans do it is not a good thing for a young pitcher. I also tend to believe it is the philosophy they have, as bizarre as that may be.
Can’t put this fucking guy away.
We have a HR, thus we have a run. Otherwise, nothing.
What an awful at-bat. Jesus fucking christ, Schlittler. All that to give up a screaming line drive.
That’s why you don’t walk the fucking leadoff hitter, dipshit.
I mean, what the fuck ever, everyone else lost, so I can’t even complain too much about Schlittler sucking. Still annoys me.
How do you walk the leadoff hitter after being given a fucking lead against a star pitcher?!!?
The Yankees need an entire remake of their coaching staffs, not just Boone. Their philosophy seems bizarre on both the hitting and pitching side of things.
They obviously have an approach, but you can’t make the pitchers do it. Look at what Schlittler was doing the first three innings. That was the correct approach. He just couldn’t keep it up because these pitchers are headcases.
The offense, yeah, I dunno.
29 pitch inning. What the fuck, buddy?!
I’m not sure the Yankees will ever beat a good pitcher other than by 1-0 or 2-1 unless the pitcher has nothing. A good, or smart, team will sometimes scratch out 4 or 5 even against a good pitcher.
What O’Neill just said except team wide.
There is nothing more offensive than this Yankees offense, and they just keep on keeping on. The Cashman philosophy of not firing people during the season is a stupid idea. The hitting coach, if he exists at all, should have been gone weeks ago.
Yeah, I’ll defend the pitching approach, but I got nothing for the hitting approach (although, even there, there’s no way that Austin Wells has been following ANY sort of approach, ya know?).
The Dodgers in a similar Yankee-like funk. Weird.
These are the real Yankees. Even yesterday their middle inning guy was shutting us down until he ran out of gas.
The good hitters on the team have been ON Ryan tonight, but it just hasn’t been working. Just REALLY hard hit balls, but right to guys.
I like the use of Yerry here over Devin against the top of the lineup. Give Yerry two innings.
That’s why I hated using Yerry in the 9-1 game. I wanted him available to back up Schlittler.
Jake Bird, Cashman’s folly, at Scranton 3G 2.2ip 13.50 era
The whole point of getting Bird was to let Blake fix him. He can’t fix him in Scranton. They’ll have him for three seasons after this one. Just let Blake work with him during Spring Training, like he worked on Cruz.
Whatever, EVERYONE else lost, I can’t get too pissed.
The bullpen rubbing two sticks together, trying to get a fire started.
Oh well, I guess this was Yerry’s game to suck.
Yankee just not good enough to sweep any more. It’s unusual to even win a series.
Best pen in baseball. Yerry is good until the game is close. Another L on the pen. I probably would’ve gone Leiter but who knows.
Cam Schlittler’s 5th and 6th Ks.

He could be SO fucking good.
This inning is just the epitome of the 2025 Yankees. Pitcher throwing WAY too many pitches, infielders not being able to make plays, and just bizarre errors out of nowhere.
Doubles with two on can score runs, the Yankees should try it sometime.
That’s not their lane. It’s not in the Boone/Rowson binder.
Their lane is two flat tires.
The Braves put up a 9-spot on the Mets in the 4th inning.
As they’re collapsing, the Mariners had a big 9th inning comeback.
The Mariners are good. We’re not.
I wouldn’t hate a Wallner walk here, honestly.
It’s hard to imagine the Yankees winning a playoff series.
It’s hard to imagine this mess making the playoffs.
I’ll give it up to Lewis, that wasn’t even a bad pitch. That was just a nice piece of hitting. Would have been amazing to strand that runner. I could imagine they MIGHT have come back if it had stayed 3-1. 4-1, though, is dunzo.
Big win by Baltimore.
Just don’t let Ryan get through two more innings.
2-0 popup, Judgey?!
The Twins bullpen is terrible, they just can’t let Ryan get through seven.
And so Stanton chases for strike three. Dude, you KNOW not to do that, so just DON’T do that!
Judge is really tanking his season.
Ryan is now totally getting through seven.
Take him out. Take him out. Take him out (also, pinch hit Goldy for Wells).
It kills me that he’s going to get through seven.
Hah, why would they pull him NOW?
Especially since the Yankees will 100% pinch hit Goldy here now.
What a bizarre managing choice.
Are they actually going to let Wells hit?!
I am so not looking forward to facing the townies, especially at Boston.
WHY THE FUCK IS WELLS HITTING HERE?!
WTF!!!!!!!
They HAVE Escarra on the fucking bench! Why is Wells hitting here?!
I cannot get over how dumb Boone is being here.
The worst hitter in baseball or a guy hitting 400 vs lefties.
It’s just fucking insanity. Boone somehow finds a way to find a new bottom.
Nice job swinging at ball four, you fucking idiot.
And then THAT he fucking takes. You fucking awful, awful hitter. Thank GOD he was hitting there instead of the guy who crushes lefties.
Boone, you fucking FOOL.
Wells should have been in SWB a few weeks ago. Cashman s a saboteur.
Boone used to make 30/70 bad decisions. Now it’s 1/99.
Do Hal or Cashman watch these games?
No one mows Yankees hitters down like Yankees hitters do themselves. They weed wack themselves.
If they use Topa for two innings, that’d be kind of pathetic.
Bring on the Twinkie pen.
I mean, if they can’t even score a second run, you can’t even get too mad at the bullpen. It’s all on the offense.
If they used Goldy instead of NotWell they just might’ve scored. And I can blame Yerry and I can blame the hitters. If Yerry kept the game close who knows what might’ve happened.
Oh, Yerry sucked, no doubt. I’m saying I can’t be too mad at him when the offense didn’t do shit.
Plus, Yerry has been so good that it’s hard to get too mad at him for one shitty outing.
In the battle of the pens the Yankees once again came in second.
Katie S “Entering tonight, Devin Williams had faced 61 batters this season in low-leverage situations per @baseball_ref).
Those batters had a .098/.246/.137 line in those PA.”
Isn’t that special?
Fucking hilarious.
Curry: coming into tonight Yerry had faced 125 batters, only nine were in high leverage situations. There’s the problem. With a day off tomorrow and a rested pen why not go with your best relievers.
Was the sixth inning even a high leverage situation?
Aaron Boone said that Paul Goldschmidt has a knee injury and may need to go on the IL via @BryanHoch
There’s another RHB gone. Slater, Rosario and now PGold?
At least it made the pinch hitting decision make sense. Goldy was DEFINITELY limping the other day, by the way.
Hoch Amed Rosario could be activated from the IL on the 19th. With two off days coming, the Yankees could use someone for just three games in St. Louis. That person could then be optioned for Rosario, who said he expected to miss just the minimum amount of time.
Who do they even HAVE? Could they add Rumfield to the 40-man and cut that dumb middle infield guy they got on waivers earlier this year?
I guess De La Cruz would be the guy, right? Since he’s a righty, and they already outrighted him earlier, so they obviously wouldn’t mind doing it again. The waiver guy second baseman can be DFAed to make the room.
Miggy Andujar 306/819
Did Baldelli know PGold was NA for the game but Kay and the Yankee press did not? Otherwise why bring in a LHP when a counter of PGold was so obvious.
Their bullpen is terrible. He was the best option they had, they had a three-run lead and another lefty was after Wells. He used his one good reliever for six outs, ya know?
But yes, I agree, it was a bad choice.
Yeah I saw that miggy is back hitting. Last year too. The Yankees ruined him and it took a few years until he recovered. Sanchez never really did.
I don’t think you can blame the Yankees for Andujar. It was pretty clearly the major shoulder injury he suffered. It just fucked him up for YEARS, without any sign it was ever going to NOT mess with his hitting. Luckily for him, it eventually healed up, but both the Yankees and the Pirates didn’t see any sign of that ever happening. He was out of options heading into 2023, so he would have had to make the Major League club to stick around as a left fielder only who couldn’t hit, and he obviously was not going to make the Major League club at that point.
Similarly, Clint Frazier was totally working out for the Yankees…and then he had a major brain injury.
Goldy injured his leg when he caught the foul popup where he had to reach back and slipped. I noticed him limping right after that catch.
Yeah, when he was running out the double later, he was clearly limping. Why the fuck didn’t they just take him out of the game then when he hurt it rather than having him run out a double?!
I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but could it be because they’re idiots?
