  1. Escarra has thrown out one runner attempting to steal out of 20 and is hitting 213/659.I wouldn’t agree that he’s “really good.”

  2. This team can’t string hits together. If they can hit 3 or more home runs every game they might be ok. Five hits Monday, six yesterday and 1 so far today. Once a pitcher gets to the seven hitter, it’s very easy sledding. 212/676, 219/651,148/449. YUK!

    1. JC helped. And Peraza with a “slight bobble” which is unacceptable from a sub 150 hitter.

  3. Is Jasson Dominguez a true major league player? He plays the outfield like a true DH and he hits like a late inning middle infield defensive replacement.

  4. How many runs did the Yankees score this series on base hits? Sac files? I think the answer is zero

How many unearned runs did Toronto score this series? I think 6. ?

The worst managed team since…I can’t remember but probably 1990.

    1. They have Narvaez but we have JC FUCKING ESCARRA 205/636. 1/20 catching base stealers. Thanks Cash.
Oh Whitlock and Kriske. But he stole Verdugo.

  5. Feinsand The Yankees have interest in Ryan McMahon as a backup plan to Eugenio Suarez, sources said, as they try to upgrade at third base. McMahon is controlled through 2027, earning $16 million in each of the next two seasons.

    1. I doubt they will get Suarez as the D’acks want the top prospects; pass. Changing managers won’t cost a single prospect.

  6. Pinstripe Alley: I feel compelled to revisit what the New York Post wrote about the Yankee meltdown in last year’s World Series:

“…the Yankees were talent over fundamentals. That if you run the bases with purpose and aggression, the Yankees will self-inflict harm…[The Dodgers] were amazed how many times relay throws came skittering through the infield with no one taking charge and how often Jazz Chisholm Jr., for example, was out of place or just standing still when a play was in action.”

The only thing that’s changed is now we have less talent.

  7. Katie S Max Fried has allowed 17 runs over his last 4 games.

That’s tied for his most runs allowed in any 4-game span within a season in his career (also 2019).

  8. After a slow two days for the guy Cash will trade for Ryan McMahon, this afternoon so far
Spence 3-4 with THREE HOME RUNS now back over 400 at 405/1424.

  9. The AAA pitching seems pretty mediocre, which is the only reason they don’t have Jones as the Yankees #1 prospect. Still, an incredible few weeks for him.

    1. Maybe but his BA is 30 points higher than the league leaders and his OPS is 400 points higher. I was fooled by Ref when he was tearing up AA.

    1. Yeah, it bodes well since LaGrange is 3 years younger with a bigger arm. His big knock was the wildness, but he cut his walk rate in half this season AND increased his K rate while jumping up a level. He could be a monster.

    1. Old friend Geoff Hartlieb shitting against the Blue Jays for ANOTHER team, too!

But yeah, that’s a huge win for the Blue Jays. It’s still early, but the division might just be toast if they’re stomping the Tigers, too (to be fair, the Tigers are in the middle of their own big slump).

    2. Why would Detroit even want Hartlieb? Enns is a former Yankee minor leaguer. I smell sabotage fueled by revenge.

    1. Gotta be. A young cost controlled guy who can hit while possibly being able to back up catch (Escarra being another cashman disaster decision) while probably being their starting first basemen next year…no way.

Of course if they keep Boone as their manager, with his disastrous history of being unable to develop young players (Sanchez, Gleyber, Volpe, seemingly Wells and maybe Dominguez, etc) maybe its best if they trade every young player for older guys. Sheesh.

The only young guy who didn’t crater under Boone is judge but his first 4 years under Boone were not as good as his rookie year under Girardi.

    2. I mean, if some team with a really good piece really wanted Rice, I could see them doing it (like if the Guardians were willing to deal Jose Ramirez, for instance, but wanted back a Major League level piece), as picking up a stopgap first baseman isn’t that difficult, but otherwise, yes, no way it’s happening, as Cash already sees the dollar signs in his eyes at having a cheap first baseman next season.

  10. The Yankees have a new third baseman. They are acquiring Ryan McMahon from the Rockies, reports Mark Feinsand of MLB.com. The Rockies will receive two prospects in return. One of the two prospects is left-hander Griffin Herring, per Jorge Castillo of ESPN. The other is right-hander Josh Grosz, per Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

Yankees gave up their #8 and #21 prospects for a 30 year old career 92 OPS+ hitter making $16 million in 26 and 27. Per Savant 4 OAA, 80 fielding run value, 72 baserunning and 33 batting run value. He does average 20 home runs a year.

    1. Yankees farm system is not great right now, so this isn’t a big price. Not a thrilling trade, but it’s fine

  11. I guess this takes them out of the Bregman sweepstakes, if they were ever going to be in it.
Although $16M per year, when they are already paying their recently DFA’d 3B $16M, may also take them out of the Tucker sweepstakes.

  12. All that said he’s an upgrade that only cost our #8 prospect. We were probably not getting Suarez without surrendering AT LEAST 1 of Lombard, Jones, Schlittler or Lagrange.

    1. Compared to what they’ve been getting from that position? That’s almost Nettlesian.

  13. Career home OPS 818
    career road OPS 664

Cashman has no clue. Yes compared to what they are getting this year it’s an upgrade…but they’re stuck with him for 2 more years.
