  1. It is very, very bad that Stanton is getting consistently retired on four-seamers in the zone.

When he expands the zone, it is annoying, but it is more stupid than concerning. But when he can’t beat gas in the zone, that’s very worrisome.

  2. Tuesday the Yankees only won thanks to a miracle wild pitch and were thoroughly throttled by Shane Smith and an assortment of relievers. Today Martin Davis has held us to one so far. How are we going to beat Boston or Seattle?

    1. It’s not like the Bostons aren’t screw-ups, too.
None of these teams is all that fantastic.

    2. Agree but their top of the line pitching in the first round of a short series Crochet, Bello, Giolito, Whitlock and Chapman is very tough.

  3. Yankees are Palooka beaters but they don’t have the multi dimensional offense to beat good pitchers like 4-3. The good Yankee teams beat Pedro half the games.

  4. 6 innings 5 baserunners. Yeah the HR was bad but overall I think some would call this a quality start. If this is bad Rodon, I’ll take it.

On the other hand. 1 for 10 with RISP is not good under any circumstances

    1. He’s had a great Toronto series, but yes, Narvaez has been more his true self in the second half of the season. I imagine we’ll see more of that going forward.

    1. I think it’s three things.

      1. Fuck the Yankees
      2. The pride of saying “You need to go through us if you want to win the division”
      and, more specifically,
      3. The pride for Rogers in being able to do it to a playoff team

    1. Maybe it’s not just Cal. Is there something new out there? In horse racing when one juicer gets caught the scientists come up with 2 new substances that there are no tests for.
