I hate to say this but Boone did ok this year with this team. Much fewer WTF moves and maybe a calm manager helped the team deal with the injuries.
Cashman on the other hand gave Boone a team with huge holes. C, 3b and SS can’t hit and a CF who can’t hit or field. None of this should have been a surprise to anyone who watched 2025, though maybe you thought the CF was for real after last year, which means you made the same mistake as the Yankee GM.

Something about Jones’s mid-season tweaks has allowed him to hit lefties consistently. He didn’t have it in the minors. I suspect Schenck helped him unlock something.
Schenck’s approach can certainly work for big guys like Judge and Jones, but interestingly, he also fixed the super little Townie Caleb Durbin, who through May was hitting like Austin Wells, then sought outside coaching from Schenck and now has a 101 wRC+ on the year.
If he can do it for more than one body type, then I wonder whether Schenck might be able to fix Dominguez – and, for that matter, Wells.
Regarding Boone’s management (in)ability — I agree with Pete here. I don’t watch games anymore, just the condensed wins and this site. He has easily cost this team 8+ wins already this year. It only gets magnified in close / extra innings games and you can see how they’ve done there. This is why they cannot possibly win a championship with him. The postseason requires actual managerial skill, and Boone doesn’t possess that. Until upper management decides they want to actually win again (in the postseason) I am continuing to not watch.
