This is a big road trip. It will probably decide if they even have a CHANCE at winning the division when the Rays come into the Stadium next week. Weird to not see Volpe, right?
I’m not excited about clinching a post season spot. Or worried about not.
Two runs Saturday, two runs Sunday. A guy with a 5.50 ERA says thank goodness for the Yankees.
Keeping track of the Blue Jays score for the “clinching” is fucking IDIOTIC. They’re obviously not missing the playoffs, idiots!!
Power laden infield Lombard, phenom, Cabby, takes a lot of pressure off Judge, gives him time to find his timing. And if he doesn’t, Cabby can play RF.
That was an awesome defensive play.
You can’t be all, “Be perfect of ELSE!” every fucking game to the pitching.
Is it June again?
Yankees playing good like a World Series champion should.
Deja vu all over again.
The Yankees lineup, where guys with 5.50 ERAs don’t fear to tread.
Other than hitting and defense we played great.
Maybe a short stint in Scranton woulda helped.
has Judge been on base even once since returning?
I think he got two hits in game 2.
Yesterday was an example of the type of game Cashman uses to justify having every batter, in every at bat, on every pitch, try to hit it in the seats. “Without those homeruns we wouldn’t have scored.”
Today is what happens with that approach when your pitcher doesn’t toss a shutout.
Last 15 days 19 era for Timmy
Volpe will get caught stealing. Bank on it.
Wells Big sac fly rbi guy
The infield is the heart of the team
Another amazing AB from Wells.
Runs, wow.
Judge!
well well well
Lombard hit the ball well, but then 4 hits by just putting the ball in play (take note Wells) plated 3 runs.
Then Judge ends the rally with a HR!
Stat padding rally killer.
Did somebody pass out the Greenies?
Yanks really flashing the leather tonight
Thank you, Kody Clemens. Yay, win.
Yay win. Yay Warren. Yay Cabby.
Glad to see the homer, but Judge isn’t exactly inspiring confidence. Since the beginning of May when he exacerbated his initial injury, Judge has only really seemed to hit pitchers who are also getting hit by the rest of WOE.
Picky, picky, picky. 😎
Clinches a playoff spot. Hal says, that’s all I want.
Ca ching
Warren is pitching quite well. Last 24 innings, 25ks, 22 hits, 4 earned runs….
Nice.
It’s really shocking. I can’t trust it just yet, but fuck, if he keeps this up, he becomes a VERY valuable trade chip this offseason.
Why would judge immediately shut down a Cam for MVP discussion?
I wonder whether Cam loved that kind of support.
Why wouldn’t Judge just say, in his usual Jeter mode, “that’s not for us to decide, but he’s been our MVP”, or something like that?
H really should just hit more and say less (and manage less). Generally he’s the Jeterian “say whole lot of nothing,” never been a fan of that… but when he actually says something substantive, he almost always makes pine for the whole lot of nothing.
