Yup. San Diego has great weather and with Soto, machado, etc would have a really good team and he made that decision before the Dodgers went nuts.
But we know he’s a weirdo. He decided to stay in NY and sign with the Mets. Either a weirdo, not very smart, or a guy who has received some really bad advice.
It sounds like the last one. The rumor is that it was his family that was pushing him to sign with the Mets (as they threw in a bunch of perks for his mom), and he’s a dutiful son.
Cohen also rolled out the red carpet. It worked w/ Lindor to start it off not unlike the Jayson Werth signing w/ the Nats.
