It’s so annoying that Taylor Trammell is a useful player for Houston. Didn’t have THAT on my 2025 Bingo card.
In any event, the Yankees have gotten their one win during this stretch of games, so a whole lot of losing ahead of them, likely starting with tonight, as Alexander will likely dominate them again.
The rumors of Gianni’s death have been exaggerated.
Wellz pulling away from phenom 213/703-208/672
Great AB, Volpe. Why is he playing? Series of Doom is why.
Would’ve been nice to get Wellz in but can’t ask too much.
McMahon, ugh.
Wells half way to the cycle
Wellz signs of life. phenom not so much.
Wells is hot as a pistol the past month. Nobody tell YC
Like the kids in Bristol
Wells waking up after a long slumber. Volpe, still 💤 after nearly three years.
One more HR from phenom and two more from Stanton, and this club would match the legendary 2019 Twins with eight 20-HR guys.
En route to matching the 2019 Twins’ postseason winning percentage.
ouch
Fucking hell, you need an Amazon membership AND an MLB network sub to watch this? Fuck Manfred with a rusty chainsaw
Bosox lose.
Spring Trining Wellz
Volpe in mid season form still
Cone with some honesty, good pitch to hit, just swings right through it. phenom has two good games and we’re supposed to forget how shitty a hitter he is.
Please, stop playing Volpe. Thank you. /s/ Yankees fans everywhere.
Warren was lucky it’s only 2. They hit the ball hard a lot.
Better to be lucky than good.
Cruz couldn’t help himself, he thought his job as a reliever was to allow baserunners, and he has.
Maybe Judge can light a rally.
Maybe not. Since starting the series 2-2, he’s gone 0-7 since.
Yankees 0/6 RISP. How many were phenom’s?
You can feel the loss coming in The Series of Doom.
This bullpen is trash.
A seven pitch three up-thee down inning. The bad Yankees have returned.
Meanwhile, the Astros get a leadoff double. Followed by a walk.
Does this bullpen EVER put up zeros in close games? The most overrated pen in MLB history.
If it’s a tie game, one guy will give up a run. If it’s a two run game three guys will give up runs.
Ungood
It’s not just that the pen is trash, it’s that it’s considered good to very good. Even teams with ‘bad’ pens consistently outduel the Yankees.
Is he gonna walk in a run or give up a hit?
No excuse but this ump is ass
Gotta nibble against a 202/653 hitter.its pretty clear Trammel did not want to swing the bat and Devin obliged.
Trash bullpen.
Cruz 1ip 1 r 2h
Weaver 1ip 1r 2h 1bb
Devin 0.2ip 1r 1h 3bb
So far
Take out the trash.
The Yankees realized who they are after winning last night and getting an early lead tonight.
Volpe could have done that.
LOL
I mean, come on, it took a lot of dumb stuff for them to lose this game. I’m not taking too much from it. Them scoring three in the ninth honestly impressed me.
The umpire fucked Williams, and then Boone made the worst possible choice to relieve Williams. Doval entering a game with the bases loaded is possibly the dumbest move Boone has made all year. Leiter, Hill, Yarbrough, fucking BLACKBURN would have been a better pick there than Doval. It was just astonishingly bad.
Doval isn’t even a useless pitcher, but in the eighth inning with the bases loaded?! Are you fucking HIGH?
The guy’s whole THING is that he is wild, so you’re going to bring him in with the bases loaded? That’s just mind-boggingly bad.
At least Blackburn would have thrown strikes, ya know?
Boone continues to amaze. Talk about having no feel for the situation.
It’s CRAZY. I literally would have preferred ANYONE else in that situation, even Hill against a righty. But Leiter obviously would have been the normal choice.
Cutting a 4 run deficit to one is a serious CT.
I was watching South Park so I missed the 9th. Wow strike 3 to Jazz after the blown calls to Devin and the balk just unconscionable. If you’re going to miss pitches miss them consistently.
Devin 5.60 era worst among all MLB relievers. Boone “I thought he(Williams) was throwing the ball well. Real competitive at bats, lot of close pitches. Why was Devin nibbling with the bases loaded against a 202 hitter?
Agreed. It was a weird mixture of an awful umpire, and just moronic pitching by Williams.
Sinking to the level of the manager?

Katie S Yankees have 12 losses when leading by 2+ runs in the 6th inning or later this season.
That’s the 2nd-most in MLB. Only the Diamondbacks (14) have more.
Yankees have 7 losses when scoring 7+ runs this season.
That’s the most in the AL.
Entering tonight, Devin Williams had allowed a .728 OPS in high-leverage PA and a .321 OPS in low-leverage PA (per @baseball_ref)
Camilo Doval now has 4 balks this season.
That’s the most in MLB.
this guy is going to get a ring if houston ends up on top
