The problem is he’s not, it’s all in his head.

So his first 13 games he was loose and his fielding was great, then he made an error, now he’s feeling the pressure. I don’t know what the fuck they should do.

It’s not the end all/be all of what has been ailing them, but batting Lombard fifth just so that they could break up the lefties has always been a terrible idea.
They correctly made a very intentional move of keeping him in the #7-9 spot. He responded well, but it’s been less than a month, that doesn’t mean suddenly throwing him into the heart of the lineup.

Thank God we have Boonie.
He may not know how to run a game, he may suck at literally every other thing a manager can possibly suck at, but he knows how to get players through tough times, which is why Lombard’s error didn’t snowball into 5 errors in 5 games or something, and all the other up-and-coming stars emerging from the minors who could have flamed out if not for Boone.
